haux Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Wow. They're completely static. The wheels aren't even wheels -- they're just plastic fixtures. The other Statix trains could be placed on your own track.
DBru Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 ^ The main page has mentioned for quite some time that we were wrapping up design on the Intamin and PTC style of our Statix line. We are proud to show you guys the first "test shots" of the molded pieces. NO...THESE ARE NOT THE COLOR OF THE ACTUAL STATIX. ...
Moose Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 ^ How is that a response to what Haux said? What he said is exactly right... No release date yet, and no these are completely static trains meaning they will not move. THese look cool and all, but I have absolutely no interest in buying them.
DBru Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Oh okay. Sorry, I thought that was just referring to the "test versions"...
haux Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 DBru, I know. I read it. I was just commenting. The Intamin track is pretty cool. And the trains are really sleek. One of the pictures looks like a lap bar is up. As for the PTCs, I wonder how those trains will track. Those cars are big, so really quick transitions might be hard to do. Though I don't really understand how the CoasterDynamix wooden coasters work.
scooterdoug Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 ^^The wooden trains are completely static. They are for display only, not for actually running on a working model. So, these won't work on the Comet: http://www.coasterdynamix.com/storeitem.aspx?item=62. If you already knew that, sorry for the extraneous info. -Doug
