the ghost Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 This was the opening season of sunset gardens and I am a premium pass holder so I go there very often. The park is extremely well landscaped and there is also some great theming. Coaster Overview Phantom- A Vekoma old school woodie- This is an awesome coaster and it is clear that Vekoma wanted to build twist and back. In other words it is technically a twister but can also fall in the out and back group. This is my favorite coaster so far with some amazing theming and airtime. Screamin Eagle- A custom schwarkopv this coaster features a really great layout as well as some awesome airtime Blue Jay- rollerskater- not too bad but not thrilling New log flume as well as flats and a dark ride on the way for next season. Year three brings a rollercoaster with very little known information about the coaster. WHAT DO YOU THINK? SHOULD I CONTINUE? SCR104.BMP feast your eyes on the phantom. An amazing half out and back and half twister coaster for an ultimate rush SCR97.BMP hey wait is that an airtime hill SCR97.BMP Wow what is that large mansion doing in a themepark? SCR93.BMP this is the midway area of my park consisting of a tumbler, huss jump, and a double decker carousel. There is rumor that the midway will soon be home to a gravitron, top spin, and a tilt a whirl SCR102.BMP Bluejay is a fun kiddie coaster SCR105.BMP a really fun huss jump ride. Also shows off awesome landscaping SCR103.BMP awesome and pretty forceful. I love the Eagle
DBru Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Definitely your best work yet! The only thing I would do is put a small station around Bluejay's loading area. It looks kind of plain as it is. Can't wait to see the new coaster!

I plan on making the next season more about theming and landscape. Actually I will do what most people do and just do mini ride things and updates instead of seasons. Next update will be out soon.

cinciDAWGS12 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Well you don't see too many woodies that are painted(except for white) and I don't know it's always been a pet peeve of mine to have odd colors like that. But that's just my opinion. It's your park so do what you wish.
Pufferfish Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 The park is pretty good, I only see two things. 1, widen the paths a little to make it more realistic. 2, please work on phantom's station roof, it is very unrealistic as it stands. Other than that, good job! I love Screamin' Eagle's layout.
the ghost Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 All right, thank you guys so much the roof wwill be changed and I will try with the widewning but I dont know if it will work BTW the reason it is painted black is because I wanted it to look somewhat menacing and scary. In the next few seasons (updates) their will be a classic looking woodie. Dont expect that for quite a while though because after year three there is just one more planned coaster and then a coaster break for a few seasons. I may add a kiddie coaster during that time but nothing major will open for quite a while. That does not mean I have no really cool planned attractrions that are not coasters up my sleeve

the ghost Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 During the last week my family and I have been visiting relatives in England . I have not talked to anyone from home. When we left the airport we got into the car and turned on the radio. We heard a tornado report but assumed it was not about where we lived. When we were driving home we all began to cry because it became apparent that the tornado had struck us. We drove by sunset gardens and the park was completely destroyed. Our house was also destroyed. Luckily we have a vacation home in Boise Idaho and because our house was destroyed we just moved there. Six Flags has bought the small park company that built Sunrise Gardens and a new park, Sunset Gardens, has just opened in Boise Idaho. Mark Shapiro has been quoted saying " We are proud to accept Sunset Gardens into our Six Flags Family and expect the park to grow more and more, We also want to offer our sincerest sorrows and prayers for the many people who lost loved ones or homes in the terrible tornadoes. Here are pictures from opening day.
