I was over at (another park site - ain't getting free advertising from me) and I saw a picture of a partially demolished Ice Station Cool.

What the hell? I hadn't heard a peep about Ice Station Cool being on the chopping block. Am I going to have to start going to World of Coke in Atlanta to get my fill of that delicious Italian treat?

Anyone know the official line on this? Is it getting replaced by a churro stand? What gives?

EDIT - I'm a moron who apparently missed hitting certain of my regular sites last week (I was tired, I guess). I dunno how this one slipped under my radar, as Beverly is a park tradition. No more, I guess. I guess they must have figured out that no one was buying cokes anymore; they were just going to Ice Station Cool and filling up their water bottles with Beverly.

Yeah, I had heard that Ice Station Cool was being turned into something else Cola-Cola related. Perhaps the Beverly will return in whatever it's new incarnation might be?

Yeah, Ice Station Cool is down for refurbishment until Late 2005. It will reopen as "Club Cool." No official date has been set. Nor do I know what it will be exactly.

I can't believe someone actually likes Beverly, unless I smelt sarcasm. That stuff was nasty! I tried to just to see what it was like, but knew it was horrid.

Yeah, hop over to the video contest page, click on "Shut Up and Smile,' and decide for yourself how much I like Beverly. Even though it is about as tasty as drinking soda water out of a bum's bum, it was still one of those "things you have to do" while you're at Epcot.

Even if the theming didn't match, I still thought Ice Station Cool was a nicely done area even if Disney never really bothered to call any attention to it on the park maps (then again, why would you want to point out a place where liquid products are free?). I hope Club Cool maintains the freebies, but I'm not holding my breath.

And as bad as Bev may be, the nastiest thing I've ever had was some lukewarm Malt Goya. I would have killed for some Beverly to wash that foul taste out of my mouth.

"No more Beverly." Those three words are right up there with "Psyclone Burned Down."

After trying it at World of Coke in Las Vegas several years ago, I can understand why no one will miss it.
