DutchCoasterFan
This report was made for Themeparkvision.be, were the board of Rollercoasterfriends is hosted. For the opening of the season I went on the V.I.P. Trip – Various Italian Parks. However… I though it was worth translating. So here it goes… Day 1 - Movie Studios A whole lot of photos... I hope somebody takes the time to read everything. I did the best I can with the translation. Enjoy! Before getting started with my job in Walibi World I had one weekend to visit a few parks further away. So I signed up for one of the 40 spots in the V.I.P. Trip. The trip began the day before, with a 4 hour train ride from Walibi World (I was there for a few hours)to Mechelen in Belgium. My pick up was waiting for me over there. I slept in Belgium because we flight was at 06.35 in the morning from Brussels. After a short ride to Tom’s home the night felt, a very short night… Told you, a very short night! Once arrived at the airport around 04.00 in the morning I was still a bit sleepy. This was my third trip in four years with this group, so a bunch of new faces for me. So the waiting began… Good morning!B] After a short flight, about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, we arrived in Milano Bergamo. While the 8 drivers picked up the rental cars, we had to wait for a moment.. After 15 minutes the first cars came in. We booked midclass cars, they gave us much better! Volkswagen Passat, Mercedes C-Class, Opel Safira etc. That is the way we like it! Park 1: Movie Studios, a 1 hour drive from the airport. The fastest car, the Mercedes, managed to arrive last at the park! This would be a return visit for me, until this weekend was my last visit 4 years ago. A blue sky, it would me a lot less blue later on…B] It is a small park, but everything looks good and clean. For most European fans the classic free-fall is a ride they had never done. Luckily for us Movie Studios bought one last year. All I can say: I love the ride! Terminator 2, a 5D show. We did that one later on. It was “just oke”. The groups sticked together, we walked with approx. 15 people a group. You can find show cars trough the entire park. Next was Magma. A wild ride with special effects, unfortunately 50% was closed. The ride will totally re-open this summer, after a hugh upgrade. What can I say... Tom is (I guess) explaining something... Dukes of Hazzard-car Guys... it is a family park!! Does the song “Together” tells you something? Yes, High School Musical. They liked to rip-off stuff in Italy. If it is a good rip-off, okay… I can understand. Well, this was a sh*t rip-off. A fight/stunt show that sucked on the music of High School Musical with a Rambo setting. Yeah right… I don’t wanna see the movie! A awesome ride! U-571, ever heard of it?.Basicly it is the best non coaster ride in Italy. You take a submarine, make it really small en stinky (realistic!) and let all sit face to face. You get totally soaked! The best part… you are not secured, you are free to move. That means that at the end of the ride you are close to sitting on the lap of the person beside you. Soaked! Airtime! That’s the coaster-spirit. That cable, it is the power supply (not a joke). Lago Di Garda. Just to in between photos. A really well themed top spin and a really long horror house… really long! Mini-log flume time Here we go! Pascal is having fun. And he is not the only one Way to go guys, sunglasses on, hands in the air! I think they know that they are getting really wet in a moment... The most lame ride ever. Don’t know what to say…. What, I had to get one good looking lady of the group in this report!? ] While most of the group went for a Indiana Jones Show, we decided to get ourselves soaked one more time. Small group photo. After that and the show we were all tired. We went for the exit, however… on our way we ran into a crew that needed people to fight Rocky for a scene. Instructions. One of our ladies… where is the mini skirt?! Our referee introduces the fighters. A direct hit!B] But it wouldn’t help anymore…B] And the winner is... Stien, one of our group, finally ends of in the arms of a strong man this trip…B] I told you. Picture time afterwards. The blue sky was gone… and so were we! The group from the V.I.P. Trip 2008! A long day, but still enough energy for some smooth dancing moves. Time to leave the parking. After getting lost with the car I was in, we arrived 45 later at the hotel than the car in front of us The room. Food... food.... Alcohol.... alcohol! After that we went for the hotel. Some people do strange stuff on their way! Like here... A small group stayed in the lobby for a few more hours to hang out, orders found there way to the room. The alarm went again on 06.15 the next day… Day 2 will be online later on.
RIP Psyclone
It's good to see a park buying a 1st gen Freefall all these years later. It does look like there may be a bit of friction on the drop, though! Love the cheerleaders, too.
bdstrom
Great pictures! Although, this one caught my attention... how steep are those waterslides on upper right? Seems unrealistically-insanely steep! Or maybe it is just an angle of the camera?

I did those in 2004 and sitting there to go down... I was terrified! It just a bit less in real, but still extremely steep.
Groteslurf
Great report. I visited Movieland Studios for the first time last year and I really love this small park. In exactly 5 weeks I will be there for a re-visit. Can't wait.
eBen
Did they actually buy a new one or was it from another park?
