KDCOASTERFAN Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Bad news I'm afraid.I was trying to find out why the KDconnection forums were down by going to the homepage only to get a message from the webmaster that they've pulled the plug on the site entirely, which makes no freakin sense as they had a good base in the forums. Now we don't have any sites devoted to the park anymore which really stinks & there's no word yet on wether or not KDsource will be returning either. 1
bpmitchell Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I am working on an alternative project to that website for the park. I have decided on the name "KD unplugged". It will be similar to KDConnection, but I am planning on including videos from the park, a weekly podcast for the park via the internet where people can send in their questions and suggestions for the park. There will be a photos section, forums, and I am planning on opening a shop for gear also.

Sweet, just let us know how it's going ok?Speaking of podcasts why hasn't Clint uploaded the opening day podcast yet?
ShannonSomerville Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Went there Saturday afternoon, from work. It was ok,except for Volcano, which was having some issues. Met my boyfriend down there for the evening. Rode Backlot(at least they didn't change the trains, just the billboards, and no sound effects, either),Flight of Fear,Rebel Yell and Grizzly, which had no line, whatsoever. To end the day,we went to Starbucks(after all,it was darn cold,so we got some hot chocolate). Hopefully,go back there soon....
bpmitchell Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I am going to get started on this project tonight at work. I am going to get all of the pages together, photo pages, and discussion boards. I am also in the process of creating a logo in photoshop. The store will have items that will be hosted through cafepress.com. KD Unplugged is scheduled for a debut around the time that Dominator is scheduled to open. I am also planning on putting together a DVD of the park that can be purchased to raise money for charity.
Kingbooba Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I went Sunday, and had a great time! No lines for anything except Ricochet and Volcano! They did pictures for the passes fast. That was awesome. Went in and did Volcano, maybe 15-20 min wait. Then was going to do FoF, but chickened out (don't ask). Next was Backlot, that was fun. Headed to Grove and did the Wave Swinger, followed by a walk-on for Shockwave, which gave me a headache. Took a spin on Triple Spin. I also noticed that the Cyber-Sez or whatever was showing Crazy Clowns, looked like a Halloween attraction. As I walked to Hypersonic's old site, they had Mario plushies at the game stand, so my dad and I headed over, but decided to do Ricochet and head back. So we di that, waited 10 minutes, went back to the game and he beat me but we got the Mario anyway. Finally we headed to the front, and I stupidly decided to ride the ugly Berserker. It's painted blue now. Anyway, it scared the crap out of me, but I didn't scream. When you're hung upside down it feels you'll fall right out, even with all the restraints. Then we left. I have some pics and a video of Berserker, all of which my dad took with his camera phone. So they may be sloppy, but they're good enough. I may post them.
bpmitchell Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I've started on the beginning phases for kdunplugged.com. If you would like to see a sneak peek at it, here's the link KDunplugged forums I've only began on the forums part of it -Brian-

Nice just keep me posted. Slightly OT have you got any experience uploading photos to blogspot pages? I've recently launched a themepark blog at blogspot & want to do photo updates covering KD & SFA but cannot seem to get my pics C&P's into the post window & it's driving me nuts here.
bpmitchell Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 If its all html, then it shouldn't be a problem at all. Send me the photos to my email account which is bp_mitchell@hotmail.com -Brian-

Send me the photos to my email account which is bp_mitchell@hotmail.com -Brian- Thanks for posting the forums link, what I was trying to do on my site is simply C&P other photos from say rcdb.com but my guess is that they're too large to copy & paste. I'll try using some pics that I took with my digital camera of the computer screen first to see if that works.
DRACHEN_FIRE_FAN-BOY Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 does ShockWave still have the terrible color scheme?
Capitalize Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 does ShockWave still have the terrible color scheme?Yup, and its starting look faded and somehow even worse...
twells0987 Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 anyone know official opening day of Dominator???
All Clear Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I went yesterday for a couple of rides in the front of the Rebel Yell. The previously backward side is still undergoing a bunch of track work. The first drop looked to be all new wood and didn't have any steel on it yet. The red train was sitting in the station, partially dismantled (getting the new seatbelts, I presume). The blue train is completely missing. I mean, I'm sure someone knows where it is. PTC, maybe for major rehab? The always-has-been-forward side was running the blue train while the red train was in the usual parking spot. I didn't take note of whether it was being worked on or not. They've removed the big overhead sign from the top of the lift that tells you to remain seated. They've also removed the one from the Hurler. I wonder what's up with that?
