pkd freak Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Obsession is going to bring thrills and screams to Front Gate Plaza. ...BTW, this is my first park.
vedved82491 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Pretty Nice! Judging by the looks of your current work, I think you'll take this park far and make it look good as well.
pkd freak Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Thanks for the comments guys. Dbru, coming from an expert as yourself, I really appreciate it... and edved82491, thanks you also... I really do plan on taking my park far, it's a lot of work, but I think it will pay off at the end. I really came a long way in RCT3.
DBru Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 ^LMAO! Never would I think I'd see someone call me an expert, but thank you very much! You've just made my night!
Tanks4me05 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I think that you should use a larger variety of trees and that you should use more types of paths from CS packs - like the Aceana's Pavement ESSENTIALS Series. Other than that, as your first park, this is UNBELIEVABLE! Holy crap, for a first park, this is great! Extra kudos for adding a Bussink Evolution. As your first park, holy crap this is amazing! Just add in what I suggested and your park will be 100% awesome! Now it's only 90% awesome.

I do have that CS pack, this is only the beginning part of my park, trust me, I will a lot more scenary and variety of path work. It just really pisses me off that I can't use billboards, cause I have vista. I did the video from djtomca, but no help at all, I even talked with him over AIM, but we couldn's solve the problem. I'm just so upset with that, cause I have designed mostly all my ride logos.
pkd freak Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Front Gate Plaza is almost done, about 90% completed. With shops such as the Sports Gallary and Front Gate Souvenirs. Restaurants such Alpine Deli and Wings. And our major attractions, Obsession and The Paramount Wheel. Here's a closer look... Rising over 250 ft into the air, showing the beautiful landscaping of PFW, is... ... hope your enjoying the sites of Paramount's Fantasy World! Coming really soon, Adventure Island: THe Villagers Village of Adventrue
DBru Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Wow, the details in the restaurant are amazing! I really like Obsession, and the wheel looks good too. Keep building!
Tanks4me05 Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Had you been an experienced RCT3 park designer, this would be very nice. but since you are a beginner, I simply lack the ability to facilitate a suitable phrase, word or sentence to reflect upon how much skill that you have while lacking experience.
pkd freak Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 Had you been an experienced RCT3 park designer, this would be very nice. but since you are a beginner, I simply lack the ability to facilitate a suitable phrase, word or sentence to reflect upon how much skill that you have while lacking experience. Thanks, yea I actually had RCT# for like the past 2 or 3 years, but I never really couldn't get into, because it was just so unrealistic to me, I hated it. I was so use to RCT2. But after those years, I seen parks on the atari forums, and I couldn't believe my eyes with all the CS that was out and being used in parks. So about 5or 6 months ago I said I was going to try to get back into it. I had to learn how to use the CS by looking at other parks and studying them.. it was really hard for me getting use to CS far as imagining building certain structures, but I was always good at designing coaster layouts. I actually designed\drew this park PFW about 10 years ago. I designed it on RCT2, its not the accurate as my design, but it turned out really good and it helped me out as far as what to design. So I said, why not give it a try on 3. Well I did, the first turnout was not good at all, it looked so plan and dull, cause I wasn't use to CS, I only did about 20% of the park, then I decided to start over again from scratch. I hate to do it, but I had to... so here are my results, And plus I know kings Dominion like the back of my head, so a lot of ideas and images comes from there, now my true test is going to be a design from scratch in the near future, thats really going to test my skills. I'm still learning, for ex. I'm not really good at designing roofs, thats why a lot of my building are flat, but I will eventually get it, I learn pretty quick. But like I stated in a previous post, I'm just so mad I can't put in billboards, I really want/need BB in my park, but no luck. I guess I have to do without them. If anyone think they can help me out with them, I would really appreciate it.
pkd freak Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 Front Gate Plaza is now complete, with its newest addition, Ebelweiss Alpine Cafe. We had planned on naming it Alpine Deli, but the staff design team wanted to change it for some odd reason. Here are some shots. A shot from Paramount's Wheel Q-line. Stairways leading to the outside deck. A look at the deck. Random pictures. Thunder Bobs on the right side. A thrill ride that takes passengers in a high fast pace motion, then in reverse. Majority of the workers has moved on to work on Adventure Village, with some left back in Front Gate Plaza with a little touch up. Look foward for a white knuckled water attraction coming soon to Adventure Village.
DBru Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Looks great, and once again, the details are amazing... Can't wait to see AV!
pkd freak Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 I just made a decision on my PFW. Not sure if it's a dumb decision or not, but decided to go with it. Far as this billboards frenzy going on, I decided to just place blank BB up in the spots there are suppose to go, just to make it a little more realistic. I know they are just going to say frontier on them...lol. but oh well. If I ever get billboards going, I can just insert the pix in them. I hope it doesn't make PFW unattractive, any advice or opinions.
DBru Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Hmmm... to you have photoshop? Or even powerpoint? If so, after you take a screenshot of a billboard, you can insert a picture over it... But I'm not sure if that wouldn't look corny. Might as well give it a try!
Tanks4me05 Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Well, if you want better roofs, take a look at my Adventure Gardens - I know the architectural styling is COMPLETELY different than that of what you are making, it should give you some good ideas. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32214&highlight=adventure+gardens EDIT: I took a second look at your buildings, and yeah, the roofs really are flat. Just make sure you don't forget the path coverings and more tree styles. I see you used some extra trees, but try to have at least 4 - 6 different types. you might be able to get away with more, but you could run the danger of making the park look a little random.

Might as well give it a try! ummm, I have to check weather or not I have those programs, if not I can probably get them. But I'm kinda confused on what you are saying of how to do it. take a SS of a billboard, I don't understand what your saying, then insert a picture over it. I'm not able to pull up any pictures at all under my images, because of dam% vista.

I took a look at it, its nice, but its a different style then what I'm doing, I will get it together. and the trees, I plan on adding more of those and path covers, but I'm so particular about trees, I don't like a lot of the styles, but i'm going to add some more variety. Is it true if you add a lot of path covers, that it will lag the park at the end?
Tanks4me05 Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I have not the slightest idea of how path covers affect the lag, because my computer requirements are crap. My park is starting to lag already. I'm pretty sure that rides are more of an issue in a park than scenery. Although a crap load of trees will probably affect the lag, other than that, I think you should be fine. I think you should add a B&M coaster with a Hulk style launch, I haven't seen one of those in a while.
DBru Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I'm not able to pull up any pictures at all under my images, because of dam% vista. You mean you can't pull them up in the game? Or when you go to my documents, and click on my pictures, there is nothing there? I don't have vista, so I wouldn't know... ^Yes, rides are the main cause of lag. And the only scenery that will add a noticeable amount of lag to your game are particle effects. They are cool, but they will almost slow your park to a stop...
pkd freak Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 Adventure Village will be an atmosphere of an tribal village of adventure. The villagers are trying to protect there village from those stinky pirates. It will be one of our most beautiful areas in the park. We are finally getting to our coasters. AV will feature 3 coasters, including a B&M, so stay tuned. AV more focused attraction will be a highly themed water attraction, as stated before. Here's a sneak peak. entrance way, which is not completed. overview Q-line & part of the station of the water attraction.
Hand 0f Time Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I always enjoy good scenery. Very nicely done with the buildings and decor. Landscape is pretty good. Keep it up. I'll make sure to check on your progress.
pkd freak Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 ^LMAO! Never would I think I'd see someone call me an expert, but thank you very much! You've just made my night! for some odd reason I thought u had designed Hershey's Hawaiian Escape/Cascades at Hershey Hawaii, and that's why I was calling you an expert... but anyways, I think your Indiana park is great for your fist park, keep up the work.
DBru Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 ^Thanks! The logo looks really cool, and I can't wait to see the entire AV!
