coasterdude5 Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 My trip is finally here! I'll be at Great America Friday or Saturday. Any last minute tips or techniques for the park. ( I'm there regularly) PM me if you're gonna be there.
M_Force_4_ever Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 if your going to be there friday then I would love to meet up, if saturday, I wont be there. sorry. Tips: Don't go on a saturday, if you plan on going to Hurricane Harbor then be prepared to spend alot of money (locker, rental tube ect...), wear sunscreen, dont go this week (ACE conventions tend to mess up regular operations) yeah...and go to Vu first thing in the morning if you dont want to wait in a long line for it. and yeah have fun!
pvcoasterguy Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Here's what I do when I go to the park. It works well. I avoid the high capaicty coasters until they are needed (when the crowds get bad.) Superman: Ultimate Flight -> Rajun Cajun (if you'd like) -> Batman: The Ride -> V2: Vertical Velocity -> Iron Wolf -> Deja Vu -> Whizzer -> Viper The following rides have fast moving lines and three or more trains: -Whizzer -Raging Bull -American Eagle Whizzer runs three sometimes (actually suprisingly often!) Raging Bull runs three consistenly (almost every day.) American Eagle runs two trains on both sides of the track.
Canobie Fan Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 I was at SFGAm June 9th.... DejaVu was open... So I went to that first. Iron Wolf I went to next its in the back so it was a walk on... 2 trains Spacly I hit next as its next to Wolf it was 1 train wait I went to V2 next waited 9 loads for a front row... BTR I did next... It had 2 trains but was one of the longer lines.... After that I did the POS Mouse... It was running 4 cars but didnt have to long of a line. SUF had 2 trains going... And the line moved fast even if it was a bit long... Whizzer was only useing 2 ttrains. But the line was only in the station Viper had 2 trains and the line was just in the station. Bull had the most people in line.. But the line moved very fast as it ran all 3 trains Demon had 2 trains and the line was just in the station... AE Backwards just had 1 trains... so the line was longer then it should be... AE Forward had 2 trains going.. but it wasnt always raceing with backwards. I also had time to reride IronWolf and dejavu.. And then also ride both tower rides and the frisbee
DancingDays Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Well, I mean, considering the fact that you go often, why put yourself through Iron Wolf (unless you have a particular liking for it) and Deja Vu. Two absolute crap rides, IMO. I would just avoid waiting the very long queue for Deja Vu. When I go, I just usually stick to B:TR, Raging Bull, Viper, and V2, since Viper and Bull are near each other, and V2 and B:TR are close.
Canobie Fan Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 DejaVu was a WALK ON! It had no line at all.. I walked right up into the station and sat down in the front row.
M_Force_4_ever Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 ^that sounds alot like opening day this season. too bad you didn't come closer to the ACE convention becuase they added that second train on Eagle Blue, its now very marathonable (I made up a word )
