Hello everyone,

I want to visit a Busch Gardens Theme Park for my first time this summer. I'm torn between them both. I live just a little outside of Nashville and travel wise Williamsburg would be more appealing. I've looked both of them up and they both look good rides and all, but Tampa happens to have more appealing animal shows. One of my friends would find that as a plus seeing that they like animals. So from personal experience, I wanted to see what you guys think about each one and it might help me make up my mind.

If your friend is into wild animals, I think it's a no brainer to go to Busch Gardens Tampa. Also, in most people's opinion they have a better selection of coasters.

Williamsburg is very pretty, but not better overall than Tampa.

Also while in Tampa, if your friend likes animals, be sure to visit the Lowry Park Zoo. It's one of the nicer zoos in Florida. If you like marine life, check out the Florida Aquarium in Tampa as well.

Wow, distance-wise, you really are almost perfectly between both. I'd go with Tampa as well. BGTamprica does an excellent job with their animals, and I'm guessing the new exhibit will be open for you too. Plus, with that route, you could always stop by Lake Winnie and/or SFOG on the way to/from.

Yes, even a Williamsburg resident like me has to agree that if you're into the critters, Tampa is the way to go (Euroburg is more about the "garden" part of the name). Tampa's coaster selection is a bit more interesting, too.

lol well I would like to thank all of you guys! That helps a lot! So I guess the choice is now Tampa! I love being in Florida anyway so I guess the slight traveling difference wouldn't be that big of a deal. So now that I have an idea of which one I want to go to... does anyone have any comments on a nice cheap hotel to stay at while I'm in Tampa.... maybe even one that's close but happens to be near the beach??? btw Thanks again everyone!!!

^I've lived in Florida nearly all my life. I've rarely seen "cheap hotel" and "near the beach" in the same sentence.

The nearest beaches to Tampa are in St. Pete and Clearwater.

Actually, in some areas, it's not impossible to find "cheap hotel" and "beachside" in the same sentence. It's the "quality" factor that's debatable.

What part of the summer, and for how long are you planning on going? Those factors can sometimes make a difference.

Hey all!

Question about BGTFL, Do they still have their ride, The Phoenix? (The cargo vessel themed Intamin Looping Starship)

I´m planning a trip to my friend in Titusville - FL, but mostly, i´m doing this just to ride The Phoenix. (See my earlier thread about Looping Stasrships and you´ll understand)

True...I went to Myrtle Beach and I found a hotel advertising $32 rooms and it was by the beach. The outside of the hotel seemed to be put together with tape and gum. The rooms did not look good enough for even roaches! I did find a Quality Inn near the beach for around $80/night and it was decent.
