christianscoasters Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Hello my fellow TPRer's! This summer I may have the oppurtunity to go to any super-dee-dooper place of my choosing with my dad for vacation! With his job, he has to fly a lot, so he gets a lot of free airline tickets. Last year, we used his free tix to fly to California, and we went to SFMM. But this year, I need your help. I need help with deciding where to go, and what to do. But here's the checklist: --Must have an amusement/theme park with an adequate amount of credits. --Must have things to do in the area. We aren't afraid to travel somewhere, but let's keep it under 75 miles away. --MUST BE FUN!!! So where do you think I should go? Thank you so much for all your help!
cobra_roll06 Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I think you've missed your flight if your going on a 2007 summer trip.
christianscoasters Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 ^I've never felt so stupid in my life O_O But I'm blond! Give me a break!
christianscoasters Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 ^Thanks! I have blond moments every day!
chmilo24 Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Not really a park, but you could go to Las Vegas. Hit up the Adventure-Dome and Stratosphere. Maybe a little pain on Roller Coaster. Visit Primm for Desperado and Speed the Ride. And then see all the shows around the city. Then there is Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, and if its not out of the way the Grand Canyon. But then again in the summer it will be +115 degrees.
knottslover77 Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 DLR should be good. Plus there are plenty of things to do in Southern California. --Jay
What Now Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 What kind of 'things' do you/your parents like to see?
dj snow Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 I would suggest heading to Six Flags Great Adventure if you haven't been. Close to both Philadelphia and Newark airports, it has a great collection of coasters. Splurge for the Gold QBot and ride as much as you want. You'll be rather close to both NYC and Philadelphia if you want to see some cultural things, as well as other "side trip" park options such as Coney Island (2008 may be the last year to see it as it is), Clementon and (a bit further away) Dorney Park. Depending on how much more driving you want to do, you could go even further out to places like Six Flags America, Six Flags New England, Knoebels, Wildwood, etc. I think that'll be a good bet if you want to find a high concentration of parks and coasters as well as other things to do.
lapseofreason Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 I'll second going to Vegas. It has credits, and even though I went the first time when I was 18(I mean it sucked not being able to gamble), I still enjoyed it. Vegas is trying to get out of that phase right now, but there is still plenty to do if you're under 21.
downunder Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I agree with the New York option because it is a fun city and there are plenty of easily accessible parks nearby starting with GAdv, six Flags new england is a couple of hours north too.
christianscoasters Posted December 30, 2007 Author Posted December 30, 2007 Thank you for all your suggestions! I have a couple more things to say: --DLR is out. We went to SoCal this year, and went to Downtown Disney. --Vegas is out. We want to go east, and have a good amusement park with a sufficient amout of credits. --I am feeling SFGADV. My dad wants CP. I'm not sure which would be better though. Great Adventure has KK, ET, and Nitro, and CP has, well, alot! The more I look at CP TR's I want to go there more. But I'm not sure. Suggestions are still open, but I think if we go anywhere, it will be one of those two places. If we did go to Sandusky, we would probably go to CP for two days, or CP one day and their water park (I don't remember the name) the next.
