coasterdude5 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I got to go to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra last night... HOLY CRAP. One of the best concerts I've been to in a long time. I figured it was just gonna be some of their Christmas songs, but it was alot more. The little Jimi Hendrix segment they inserted in about half way was crazy, the whole place was screaming. These folks really know how to put on a show. Anybody else been to one before? Thoughts?
spaceace12 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Me jealous, only really listen to two songs, Carol of ye bells and Wizards in Wonderland, but I love it.
Goliath513 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Their song "Wizards in Winter" played was constantly played at SFDK during holiday in the park last weekend. Now that's a pretty good song!
swampfox Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Yeah, TSO is great. You should check out some CDs by the band that sorta split up to create Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They were called Savatage. Their later albums made them decide to do TSO as a side project, but it sorta became the main project.
odene497 Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I can't remeber wether I've seen them two or three times. Did your show have the snow/fire/sparks and stuff? It's such an awesome show.
coasterdude5 Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 ^ Yeah, we had fire, lasers, snow, fireworks, everything.
crispy Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 qThose jerks used to come through Albuquerque, and this year they didn't, it was becoming a family tradition, very very disapointed
coolhandluke Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I've seen them twice in concert, and yes, they are incredible. I believe my favorite part is the epic drum solo...that guy has so much stuff around him to hit and goes about a solid 10 minutes of strobe-lit, double-bass, crazy bliss. He makes me wish I could play drums. Oh, and their guitarists are fantastic. And the piano. And the strings. And the poet. And the lighting. And the lasers. And the pyrotechnics. And...
