Green Bay WI to get a Coaster

Recommended Posts

The Bay Beach amusement park is a very small family park that was opened in the late 1800's in the history of the park there have been two coasters in the past but one was torn down in and replaced in 1929 and the second was torn down in 1936 due to interesting reasons.

What is interesitng to note about this park is that it is run by the city's park and rec department. They have recently announced a master plan that includes a roller coaster, a new ferris wheel and a land expansion. The park is located on Green Bay's North side near the mouth of the Fox river to the Bay of Green Bay.

These plans are not finalized and still have to be approved by city council members. The goal is to increase tourism to the city. There is no ultimate timeline for the project.

The first thing that came to mind was "I hail... from Green Bay... Wisconsin... I am... MISTERRRRRRRRR KENNEDY!"

"Kennedy!"

But maybe that's just me. That'd be awesome if he were there on opening day.

I anxiously await people asking what the hell I'm talking about.

^What the hell are you talking about?

Anyways, I've never really wanted to go there, because there really isn't anything special there now. It would be nice to have a roller coaster within about a half hours drive of my house, but I would also like to have something a little more than a kidde coaster. Guess we have to wait and see!

Except that the Dells and Green Bay aren't really close to each other.

Only 135 miles between the two. If I'm already driving ~1,000 miles round trip to the Dells, then another ~270 miles isn't a big deal for a good new credit. Don't think I'll go back to the Dells until something new is added. This would give me an excuse to go to that region.

right now there are no official plans or announcements as to a specific type of coaster. Being that the park is run by the city they have not put out a press release as of yet. My guess is that they won't until some of the official plans are released. My guess from the article that was published in our campus newspaper, that the coaster would not be till at least 2009.
