darklingscribe Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I am very new at No limits and would love to dive into the program and start building, but as with any type of simulator it is just not that easy. I have perused other threads asking questions about how to do certain things, but my search did not turn up an official FAQ thread so I thought it would be a good idea to start one. First of all this thread was the one that answered most of my questions about making smooth inversions, so I'm linking to it for other NL newbies. My main question that I have right now is: Is there any way I can open up multiple windows in the track editor? I've used 3d compositing programs to add special effects to some of my student videos and I've always found it a great help to open up multiple windows viewing a 3d object from different angles. (usually one depicting the top view, one the front view and one the side view) it helps me immensely when trying to figure out an objects position in 3d space.
Sasquatch Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Nope, you can only have one view at a time EXCEPT from 3D view. Here, you can have a 2D view and then have the 3D view in a window inside. go to display > Inside-3D
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 The only problem I have with the inside 3-D window is that there is no way to move. You have to go into 3-d view, move, then switch back to the 2-d view with inside 3-d.
coasterlover420 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Yeah, No Limits is not a CAD program. It's just a simulator... It is rather easy though, in my opinion, to transfer between views, rather than in programs like AutoCAD.
darklingscribe Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 Still it would be so much easier to be able to have 3 or 4 different views on the screen at one time. Oh well. maybe it'll happen in a future version of the program. I have version 1.60 is that the newest? Also I'm running on a Mac (and having no problems), but I would like to know how can I open up the .nlpack track files?
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Yes, 1.6 is the newest version. If it weren't Ole & the team would have sent you an update e-mail. And as for opening the nlpack files, you need the NL Mac Pack Extractor.
FeelTheFORCE Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I need AHG help. I have been trying for hours to get it to work, but I have made no progress, whatsoever. I do everything the directions tell me, but the track still comes out all bumpy and twisted. I am really getting frustrated.
coasterdude5 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 There's already a thread like this, you might find some answers there: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29233
