pianojohn Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Hello again! I am planning some more trips over the next few weeks and would like some advice. Anyone know of any discounts for Dollywood, Carowinds, and King's Dominion? Sometimes, local grocery store chains have coupons and such that you would not be aware of unless you lived in the area. I know Cedar Point had a tie-in with Pepsi cans last summer (or maybe the summer before that.) Also, any advice on lodging near Dollywood? I have a list of a lot of hotels, and all I need is somewhere close to the park, clean, with a bed. I am not picky!!! I will post trip reports with pics, and hopefully these parks will erase the bad time I had at Six Flags America last Monday! Thanks! And happy coastering! Me looking forward to getting out of SFA!!
Rugged One Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Well if you know anyone that is in ACE, but an ACE card at the ticket window will get you half price admission to Carowinds and PKD. Also, both parks have fast food joints right outside their gates that might have coupons. I believe Carowinds has a Hardees and PKD a Burger King. I don't know about any discounts to Dollywood. I know that they don't do anykind of twilight rate or anything like that. Hopefully someone else can help you out with any discount coupons. I've only stayed over in the area once and the hotel wasn't super cheap, so again maybe some else can help you out in that area.
Meteornotes Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Local Giant grocery stores are selling discounted PKD tickets. And Diet Coke cans have $7 off for PKD. dt
coaster1 Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Dunno of any discounts at Dollywood, if you have an SDC pass you get in for 1/2 off however, around $21. The hotel we stayed at was the Comfort Inn/Suites right across from Dollywood Lane. It was very nice actually and clean. It was right next to a Marble Slab and Burger King, so it made food runs easy.
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 If you are going to Carowinds and PKD it may just be better to get a Season Pass. When we were going to go to Dollywood we found a Days Inn in Pigeon Forge that was about $55 a night. It was only like 4 miles from the park or something.
shepp Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Depending on your timing, you might look at http://www.vwc.edu/vrps/home/information/Tickets/KD.htm. PKD tix are only 27 bucks, but you have to buy them by the 13th, and they have to be shipped to you. You might be able to buy them by phone, dunno. One really nice thing: they include a free visit after 5:00 the night before your full-day visit, and when we showed up, there wasn't even a parking charge.
disneygurlz2s Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 My best advice...call the parks themselves. When I worked the info center at PKI, close to 25% of my total calls, or more, on any given day were to ask about discounts. We always kept a current list of promotions, coupons, etc and could usually advise you of the best deal, dependent upon the size of your group, if you want to go into the park the night before, etc. I know last year, you could get a pretty decent price for PKI online and just print your ticket voucher right off the computer. I would think the other Paramount Parks do the same. Shari "Have a great trip" Shoufler
