haux
Obviously they're not. Come on. Look at the amount of supports and walkways on coasters. At the bare minimum, they're prepared for earthquakes. It's not like Japanese rides are death traps. Let's use that noggin.

ginzo
A couple of my mates said the rides in japan dont have any safety any info guys as going there soon thanks xxx Your friend is wrong. Japan has had its share of coaster accidents, but so has the US. And look at how long Steel Dragon 2000 was closed after its accident. The Japanese do NOT play around with safety. Heck, they had the police in investigating after the accident on the Togo stand up earlier this year, as if it was a murder or something.
Cyber.Fiber
Yeah I agree with ginzo. The Japanese do not play around with safety...
pagemaster_b
After that accident at Expoland, they shut all the roller coasters down in Japan and did safety inspections on every single one of them. Wise move on their part as that they found other coasters with serious issues and neglect. With all the recent accidents, maybe the US needs to do the same thing. SigENeaT
I got back from a month long trip in Japan last week. We got through most of the parks on the Honshu island and i was pretty impressed overall at the level of safety enforced by the rideops. Sometimes it was frustrating as it usually ended in a really short looking line taking a good 30mins to get through, but generally it was pretty good. Steel Dragon was tops! ;D

SigENeaT
Steel Dragon was tops! ;D YAY! Haha we actually hit Steel Dragon about mid way through the trip which in hindsight turned out to be a mistake. The only other coasters we went on afterwards that didnt send us too sleep were Fujiyama, Eejanaika and of course, Pyrenees (my fav!). And we went on a fair few coasters after it. Dodonpa was a huge let down because it's line was triple that of Steel Dragon and all it did was go 20kph faster on a simpler track. *Yawn*
