CoasterGoblin
Hi all, back in March when I bought my California Maxx from Knott's I made SURE that the pass was going to be good at all Cedar Fair parks.. and now that I have a trip planned to Cedar Point I notice that on the Knott's website (http://www.knotts.com/park/guest/ticket.shtml) the California Maxx pass is only good at Cedar Fair parks in Calfornia?? Did they change the deal or did I just flat out buy the wrong pass back in March? Anyone use the California Maxx pass at Cedar Point recently? Thanks for any info guys! CoasterGoblin
Yes I realize that it's very obvious now what they say the California Maxx Pass is.. but back in March it was a different story. It was very clear that it was supposed to be valid at ALL Cedar Fair parks.. you couldn't even buy any pass better than the California Maxx pass at the time. I wish I kept a screenshot of the website back then to show them if they give me a hard time (which I fully expect). Edit: After a quick google search I'll just print up this page: http://www3.cedarfair.com/greatamerica/shop/shopping_season_pass.cfm where it clearly states that the California Maxx pass is valid at Cedar Point. But if anyone has gotten in or had any problems with their Cali Max pass please post.. thanks!
Swoosh
Well you could always call up KBF and talk to someone about how you feel.
ginzo
I think there's a very good chance that it will get you in without any problems. It's not like Cedar Point can scan your pass or anything. For non-CP passes they just write down the pass number and then let you in. Security is especially lax at the Breakers entrance where they just have a clipboard to write down your pass number. Though my Maxx Pass clearly says on the back that it grants me admission to all CF ride parks. Did you read through the fine print on the back of the card thoroughly? That link you pasted is from Great America, not Knott's where you say you bought your pass. Though I doubt CP guest relations would look that hard. Just bring that print out and something that proves you bought your pass before they even offered the "CF Maxx Pass" in California, like a credit card statement, and you should be OK. The Maxx Pass is a very goofed up system, but I've never had too much of a problem with it.
KGA29
I just used my California Cedar Fair Maxxx pass a week ago. All you have to do is go through Guest Relation/Services, sign your name in, and check the little box next to your name that says what park you bought your pass from. Sean Menefee
Kelly and I had no problem with our California Maxx Passes out in Ohio/PA this past june. We have GA passes, but my best friend also used his Knott's pass for entry at CP, and also didn't have any problems. You should be covered no matter what California Maxx Pass you have. Enjoy your trip. --Sean
CoasterGoblin
Thanks.. I'll bring my GA printout since my pass should be the same (except for the huge Knott's picture on the frontside ). Can you use your Maxx Pass for early entry without stay at a CP hotel? I read on one forum that it works but most people seem to say no..
Swoosh
I'm pretty sure that is only a Joe Cool/Motel promotion.

If you have a MAXX pass not from cedar point, you can get in for early entry. Guest services opens at 8:45, you get your hand stamp, and go get in the practically empty hand stamp entrance. If you have a MAXX pass from Cedar Point, you need the joe cool for early entry.
coasterbilly
yeah Cedar Point just asks you to write your name and the park you purchased your pass at, they didn't even look at any details on our passes they just wanted to see that it had "Maxx" on it really, I wouldnt worry at all

Yeah that's what I thought I read elsewhere.. Funny I've gone from thinking my California Maxx pass won't let me into the park to trying to get early entry with it. I might end up staying on site anyway. Thanks for the info guys!
