WildStangAlex
OK- so how exactly does the launch on Top Thrill Dragster work? And what is all the water dripping from the track?

WildStangAlex
Thanks, but as to where the fluid and steam appear from I am still confused.
SnooSnoo
To put it VERY simply.. Â Hydraulic motors pump oil into a thingy which turns the spool, which pulls the cables. Â Â Wow.. I feel noob.. haha
Vekoma Fan Boy
Thanks, but as to where the fluid and steam appear from I am still confused. Well the "steam" might not be steam at all, I used to think it was Nitrogen, but then I realised that the nitrogen is aaaaallllllllll the way down the launch track. The "steam" might be just an effect, (ie. burning rubber) and the water is probably a coolant for all of the mechanics on the launch track. odene497
I'm %99.99 positive that the because water is run down along the cable to keep it cool, when it's launching and the cable is pulling fast through the pulleys, it causes the water to come off the cable as steam/mist. rollerdude
Yes, the water is to cool the channel where the catch car is as well as the cable. ^ is right about the steam.
