Goliath513 Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Well I was only at the park for about 2 hours but it was still good considering how much cheaper it is than the nearby Elitch Gardens. The last time I visited this park before this was at night back in 2004. I personally like it much better at night. Here is the Lakeside Cyclone as seen from the parking lot. Entrance building tower. If by "great" they mean "rough," then yes, it sure is. Landscaping Cyclone station. Yes, theres no queue at all except for a small ramp. Lakeside's newest attraction "Zoom." Or as I call it, "Supreme Scream Jr." For any of you ACErs out there, including myself. Close up of inside station. They still use the old style of brakes. On the second to last ride, they stopped our train too soon and the ride ops had to come out and push the train the rest of the way to the station. Wild Chipmunk. Apparently I rode in "Chip" Lots of head choppers, and this ride felt like it was going to fall apart. Wild Chipmunk, a ghetto wild mouse coaster. Merry Go Round was the only ride that operated as the afternoon thunderstorm passed by. "World's most exciting round up" it looked like any other round up to me. And trash bin. Power railed Dragon coaster that I did not ride. This ride looked dangerous and uncomfortable at first, but it was actually quite fun and more comfortable than other fair swinging inverters. And I conclude this PTR with something that looks like it belongs at SFMM, and old, abandoned, dilapidated ferris wheel ride thingy. -Sam
Homer Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I don't know why you really bashed Lakeside though. Aside from the Ferris Wheel, I find Lakeside to be a nice park both day and night. Too bad I never got to visit there when I was in Denver last summer. Great pictures though!
Airtime&Gravity Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Great pictures, and they brought back memories of my trip. I really liked Lakeside, it's my #3 park, and I loved the Cyclone. It is also probably the cheapest park I've been to in a while, and it was a great way to spend a night.
Tanks4me05 Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Ahh, if Miracle Strip's Loop - O - Plane has already been scrapped, Sylvan Beach can just get this one. Anyway, the PTR was pretty cool, and I like the building of the Merry - Go - Round for some reason.

jtizzle Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I haven't been there yet this summer, but it looks like they are "cleaning up" the park for their 100th next year. Nice that they are adding new things finally.
Goliath513 Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 Today in Colorado, I visited Hyland Hills Waterworld. This is pretty much the SFMM of water parks. Despite the fact that it was a Monday, the park was almost filled to capacity. I got there shortly after it opened at 10:00 and left around 4:00. The weather was great except for the fact that I got badly sunburned. [Due to the fact that it's late now and have to get off the computer, I only have time to put up the pictures tonight as I already uploaded them to imageshack. I will add captions tomorrow if I can find time after flying home from Colorado.] Captions/explanations to come tomorrow. -Sam
youthink? Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Waterworld was so awesome when I went in 2003! My favorite was Voyage to the Center of the Earth! I remember the big volcano in the beginning and the dinosaurs near the end! And that one pyramid ride was great as well! That toilet bowl ride scared the crap out of me. Do they still have that wave pool that has one HUGE wave? That thing is so dangerous, I got hit by this intertube and nearly drowned!
Goliath513 Posted July 11, 2007 Author Posted July 11, 2007 ^ Yes the wave pool is still there and it still sends that huge wave. I'm not a huge fan of that wave pool either. For anyone who cares about captions on the pictures, I posted them on RCPro, but I'm too lazy to rewrite them. So here is the link if you even care. http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/forum/showpost.php?p=144962&postcount=7 -Sam
dubaidave Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 OMG!! Look at all those ghost orbs you managed to capture. I hope they didnt follow you home.
canadianfreak Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Great P:TR, what an awesome water park! Those black twisty slides look too fun.
