YoursTruly Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 First post woohoo! But anyways...I am attempting to build a water park. I have a long ways to go, but here are some screenshots. Any comments, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are greatly appreciated!! Thanks! SCR3.BMP Another shot of my entryway SCR2.BMP Entryway Of Tycoon Rapids Park SCR6.BMP My waterfall.
coastercrazed49 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 The only thing I would suggest is get some custom scenery. I got all mine by downloading parks off the internet. Other than that it looks good, I really like the waterfall. BTW, Welcome to the site.
IwantRevenge Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 lower the water level, becuase now there is nothing stopping the water at the bottom from over flowing.
jsahockey09 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Yeah, you deffintaely need more custom scenery. NE is always a good site for that. While your there look at some of the runner-ups, they will show you how to uild a very god park. Also, this has been mentioned before but when you make water always lower the land with the mountain tool a couple levels and then fill it up. I hope you understood that it's kind of hrd to explain but really easy to do. Good luck with this park, water parks are always hard to do, especially for newbies.
YoursTruly Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 Thanks for the welcome I've been working on it a little more. I think I understand what you mean, jsahockey. But thanks for the tips guys and I'll post an update soon!
YoursTruly Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 Update time!! Of course comments, tips, and critiques are greatly appreciated SCR7.BMP My new garden built and I fixed up the waterfall a tad SCR11.BMP Overview of the park. As you can see, Cherry Falls is all by its lonesome. It will be alone no longer...well until I fix things up for a little while. SCR10.BMP Introduction to Cherry Falls. Kinda over the top I know rofl. SCR9.BMP Where my future food court is going to be... SCR8.BMP Other Side of the water falls. (Yes, there are 2 watefalls, impossible but deal lol) The river eventually runs into a big ol' lake
Steffen_Dk Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Cherry Falls looks very good. It's very beautiful, but I think it's too far away from the rest of the park.
HCONerd Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Great start, I actually love the look of this park alot. One thing I noticed that I see in alot of parks is the waterfalls don't really look 'natural'. The water just seems to come out of nowhere. I don't know if they are supposed to be artificial or not, but if they aren't, I suggest you should make the waterfalls look like they atually come from somewhere - ie. a river, lake, etc. Keep up the good work!
YoursTruly Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 I do believe I owe some updates! And of course, critiques and all are greatly appreciated SCR17.BMP An overview shot of what everything looks like so far. The water on your bottom right is a river that runs to the end of the land. Nothing special. Just a good place for a water coaster or something I thought. And please give critiques! It's the only way I'll get better. And no can do with that custom scenery. I have too much crap on the comp already...it already crashed twice in the past because of all the stuff I have xD SCR18.BMP And a thingamajig for someone important...haven't figured out who it will be. There may be a sign if I do decide who the statue will be of...and yes. Lots of fountains!! SCR16.BMP I would've added a sign onto that school building but it was really hard to do for some reason. I gave up and just made a scrolling sign instead. I did successfully make one for the church though! SCR15.BMP A small little town. It includes some houses (more may be added), a farm, a church and a school. SCR14.BMP Added: second food court. I figure by the time guests get here they're going to be hungry again. And yes. Scenery included. SCR13.BMP Another Screen shot of my new waterfall. The land will eventually be sloped. It takes a lot of time though...x.x SCR12.BMP Yes yes. Another waterfall. But someone did in fact make a good point. Water leading nowhere-not very realistic! (nor are my two waterfalls rofl) I decided to make another waterfall then, pouring water into the lake...
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 This makes me want to go back to RCT2... But on topic, I think we have a good creator on our hands! This looks really nice!
YoursTruly Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 Thanks for all the wonderful comments guys Not much was added... Hopefully I'll be able to add the water rides very soon!! SCR20.BMP A garden/whatever above the small town. Lots and lots of trees!! SCR19.BMP I think I can call this small town done. I fixed the sign on the school...I also added a well and a few trees.
IceDragon Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Great park, but it only has one flaw at the moment... The water level is too high! You get a more realistic view if you lower the water level and slope the edges Apart from that, it's awesome!
IwantRevenge Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 wate relve in rct2 should be about -5 and regular land level should be 0.
Huskers2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Looks really good so far, its just im not a big fan of rct2 anymore! i think its boring compared to rct3!
Corkscrewy Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 so i'm a little confused as to when the whole waterpark part of this waterpark will be constructed.... I mean, i dont remember seeing any lil towns in the last water park i went to. haha
CoasterNut17 Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Looks good! Also, a bit of advice with slopes. If you want a natural looking hill (kind of what you are doing) you have to go to Landscape Editor, then to the part where you can "Edit Landscape", then to the place that you can dig, add water, etc. Go to "dig". If you click that past one square (Example: The digger is 3x3. You click "-". Now it's 2x2. You click "-". Now it's 1x1. Now click "-" one more time to get it. You have to click "-" as many times as you need to get there, but after 1x1, you have it) Just try it out! You can ask me more if you didn't understand. (You can only do this in Landscaper Editor) Also, for massive treeing, there is another trick that you can only use in Landscape editor. First, you have to go the tree that you want to be randomly placed throught a certain area (the trees can only be 1x1 trees or else this doesn't work) . Then, in the margain where you would normally re-color scenery items, there is a button with a couple of trees on it. Click it, and just place one tree on the ground. It will randomly place trees in a diameter (don't know how big it is) from the first tree. Try it! I also don't know if these need expansion packs, but I'm only saying what I found out by expirience. Good luck with your park!
