^I love your list. But The Coney Island Cyclone was not a Harry Traver Cyclone Triplet. The Cyclone Triplets were: Crystal Beech Cyclone, Palisades Park's Cyclone and Rever Park Cyclone.

I actually wrote 2000 to begin with, because of Stealth and Millennium Force, but then I thought; "No, everyones going to put 2000; I should go with the year my #1 coaster, Ghostrider opened." So I changed it at the last minute.

1927 is my third runner up. Several of these coasters are no longer operating, but were refered to as great rides.

Wildcat@Lake Compounce

Cyclone@Astroland(#1 of the Harry Traver "Cyclone Triplets")

Racer@Kennywood

Legend@Arnold's Park

Big Beast@Edgewater Park

Cyclone@Palisades Park(#3 of the Harry Traver "Cyclone Triplets")

Racing Whippet@Westview Park

Zip@Oaks Park

You're reaching for the sake of being interesting. 2000 is the correct answer.

^^Thank You and my mistake. I can't belive I was the first one to post 1927. 1924 w/ Giant Dipper, Pippin, and Euclid Beach and Riverside Park's Thriller recieves my "classic coaster honorable mension".

^No, seroiusly. Ghostrider is the best coaster I've ever ridden, and I really love Great Bear. It's 3rd for Inverts behind the Dragons.

Has anyone said 1999? I belive that year holds the record for most new roller coasters. Yay for Islands of Adventure!

Amen! The Intamins alone almost make it, but add the others and it was a GREAT year.

Plus the whole y2k thing added to the fun!

Definitely 2000....

Kraken

Boss

Millennium Force

Son of Beast (I actually liked it when it first came out)

Steel Venom

Villain

Dominator

and I'm sure there are a few more that I've been on that I'm forgetting.

I have to retract my original answer and agree Scaparri now. For whatever reason I didn't even think beyond MF in 2000. But from your short list here I rode all of those except Boss, and that made for a great year. Plus, it was my first trip to Holiday World and my first trip to WDW.

So sadly enough, 2007 will have to take a seat at #2 now.
