carolinacaniac Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Just saw on Screamscape that is it going to be open this weekend!!! I can't wait to ride it (so long as it doesn't break *knock on wood*). I will have to make sure to take some pictures of it to share with everyone
bgwfreak Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Not sure if this has been posted or not... WRAL did a live onride yesterday! http://wral.com/entertainment/video/1419806/ They will have the coaster open May 18-24 and then the grand opening on the 25th. Hmmmm...same day as Ghost Town's reopening.
Sethinattor Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 One of my good friends got to ride it on Sunday and said it was the best ride he has ever ridden. I'm going on Saturday morning to catch it when the park opens with some friends after it opens tomorrow.
bgwfreak Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 The trains just look rediculous. It looks like a movie theater on wheels!
carolinacaniac Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I don't recall the Griffon being of Greek Mythology (what was said on the news video Wes posted a link to), but I have been knwon to be wrong before. I still can't wait till tomarrow! It may be a busy day since it is Saturday, but that is fine with me, I still like the park a lot and can't wait to ride Griffon! 200th post, woot woot!
Big Mike Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I thought it was cool to ride, but not really superb. I did really enjoy it but I guess I am spoiled by all the great trips that Robb and Elissa have, but other people will like it alot. I liked the first drop, and hanging there was nice, but only if you were in the front row. The 2nd and 3rd I could not see. But the 3rd row did get a little whip as it went down. I rode in almost every seat and being on the end seats in the front and back rows are best, even get wet in the back. It was an enjoyable experience but I am glad I did not have to wait in line at all, but I would suggest to wait for the front. The only bad part of Media day was that they were supposed to run until 6:30, but they closed shop at 4pm. I had ridden so much in the morning that I booked the scene to Virginia Beach for the afternoon and when I went to meet up with my good friend Chuck AT 5PM, the place was a ghost town. (Sorry Chuck) Well here is a picture of me. I am in the front row in the red shirt all the way on the right, with my date next to me. Peace, Big Mike %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//i111.photobucket.com/albums/n138/bigmike57/E0188.jpg[/img]
carolinacaniac Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Wow, a whole train full of aviators!!!!! so were they giving those away or was it a sort of group gag kind of thing?
