IceDragon Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 So me and a few friends wanted to go to Thorpe Park and buy fast passes so we could go on all the rides in one hit. The normal price is £32 to get in. A bit on the steep side, but for a park with a... selection of good rides, it's not that bad. So we looked at the price a few weeks ago and saw they want £72! For an unlimited fast pass for the day. Ok... I admit we were tempted to do it. You normally get 4 rides done. So, I went back just now and to my surprise (yes it was a surprise) we needed to pay ANOTHER £10!!!!! ENTRY WITH AN UNLIMITED FAST PASS FOR THE DAY COSTS *ONLY* ***£82!!!!!!*** RIP-OFF OR WHAT? I am so angry! There's no way in hell I can afford that!!! Is there any way we (the public) can lower the price?
Wes Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Ummm...what the hell? If you can't afford the fastpass, don't get it. They aren't forcing you to get them. They can charge whatever they want to.
Divv3k Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 If they were cheap enough that anyone could afford them then a lot more people would buy them - increasing wait times for those who had the unlimited passes, kind of defeating the purpose.
terrancew_hod Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 What they said. The privilege of getting ahead in line comes at a price. If you can't afford it, then you gotta stand with the rest of the crowd. I'll pay extra to be able to knock out a park quicker so I can leave and do something else. With those passes sometimes i can finish a park by the early evening and have time to go home, take a nap and get ready to go out.
IceDragon Posted May 10, 2007 Author Posted May 10, 2007 I'm not saying they should lower it, it's just a massive surprise at the price jump really...
Divv3k Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 It went up by what, less than 15%? The people Thorpe are targeting with the unlimited fast pass are not the the ones who are concerned that the price went up by a tenner. I understand you were disappointed to see the price going up, but if you aren't prepared an extra ten quid the unlimited fast pass probably isn't for you.
exmouse Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 The best way to get prices to go down is don't visit or buy the fast pass. IF no one buys them they'll have no choice but to lower the price.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Yes, but you'd need a lot of people to do that.
