Jordan Shankman Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 My friend Jon Tarvin was killed over the weekend while baby sitting his little sister. He and his sister were playing on the rope swing in their back yard and apparently the rope got tangled around Johns neck and stangled him. His 3 yr old sister was left crying outside next to John for over 3 hrs before the next door nehibor saw what had happened. I was absolutely horrified when I heard the news this morning at school. I just didn't want to accept it...I thought it was a joke or something. I stormed out of my 1st period class room and ran to Johns house where I was expecting to find him. Sadly, and as I expected deep inside, his mother answered the door crying hysterically. Right then I burst into tears and fell to the ground. In my life time, I have never had this bad of a loss. I only experiencd my grandma's death and I was only 5 then, so you can probably understand how hard this is. So please keep Jons family in your thought and prayers as they struggle through this tought time.
Token Yankee Guy Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 OMG, I'm sorry for your lost. Your friends family will be in my prayers. It really sucks to loose a friend, I know since I lost a friend back in 2003 and almost lost another friend just recently.
Movieguy Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Oh my god...that is such a horrible thing to happen to someone so young. I am deeply sorry for your loss. You and your family and friends will definitely be in my prayers.
Nemmy Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Holy shit, dude... Awhile ago, a guy that I knew nearly fell off of the lighthouse at St. Augustine; he was leaning on the railing and he lost his footing, presumably from a gust of wind. It took three guys to pull him back over. I was climbing up when I heard a bunch of people screaming. I ran up and saw him hanging over the railing. I also lost a second aunt recently. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/19/nyregion/19lee.html I know exactly how you feel.
FlyingScooter Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 All my thoughts, hopes and prayers for you and his family. Damn, that is rough.
