Xtreme-me Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I dont think that someone has adressed this already but its posted on the Disneyland website here: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/calendar/monthly/monthly?name=CalendarMonthlyPage Im planning a trip to the DL resort in June and so upon checking the website I found some important Info. Just so you know if you are planning a trip to Disneyland and are making a stop at California Adventure, The link says that California screamin will not open until 1 pm after April 30th through Fall 2007 (Monday through Friday only) because they are doing work on Toy Story Mania Underneath.
wrs28330 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Interesting.... Removing and replacing the same peice of track daily? Or behind schedule so increaing working hours?
Wes Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Probably just as a safety precaution on both ends--the workers and the riders.
COOOOLkid Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Removing and replacing the same peice of track daily? That'd be insane.
Xtreme-me Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 heck, they removed the loop and then put it back up three days later so it wouldnt be that strange but it would be kind of retarded
dino Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Interesting. Thanks for the info, me and my brother are planning to go in early june. I'll be sure to take the info into account.
GMAN962 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Hmm...well, they shouldn't remove the track every day, if that's what they are going to do... I mean, seriously, if you keep moving the same track peice over, and over, it can't be good for the ride. Actually, it could be potentially dangerous. As for me...I've never been to DCA, even though I'm like 20 miles from it. I doubt I'll be going soon, anyway, so it doesn't really affect me... So yeah...I can't wait for my first DCA trip, when I finally get to go. -Mike
Wes Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 The track isn't going being removed everyday. Repeat. The track isn't going being removed everyday. The track isn't going being removed everyday. The track isn't going being removed everyday. The track isn't going being removed everyday. The track isn't going being removed everyday. Seriously, that's exactly how bad rumors get started. Someone asks it as a question and it snowballs out of control. The only thing we know for sure is that the ride will be closed til' 1pm for a few months.
GMAN962 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 ^Yeah, that's why I said: Hmm...well, they shouldn't remove the track every day, if that's what they are going to do... -Mike
Corkscrewed Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Wes is right. They're actually removing the lift hill every OTHER day. Actually, more than likely, they just want daily construction work. My guess is they'll have the workers pull a 6-11 or 6-12 shift and have an hour or two of 'inaction.' That way, as Wes mentioned, the workers don't have anything from the coaster fly at them, and the riders don't have anything from the construction fly at them.
Wes Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 ^^ It wasn't just your post, there were a few others above yours that seemed to be taking it as fact.
chmilo24 Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 So that's why the ride would open and close so strangely, I just thought they were experiencing some difficulties and needed to test it every once and a while to see if it works. I had know idea that Mania would effect the ride and when its open.
