asr Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 Desperado is intended to be unpainted wood with steel supports. EDIT: I have compiled a list of custom scenary that will be required; Pumper Steelworx Vodhin's Lighting Kit V2 Iceatcs' Hollywood Sign Dkimber Shooting Gallery Usf Geek's Steps'N'Rocks SK Hanger51 ShyGuy's Mainstreet 1-3 Vodhin's Vermont set DasMatze Domes JSL Arcade Pack Dkimber Bowling Alley Also, I have these follow sets installed. It is possible that any of these could make it into the park, and if the park doesn't work, try installing the rest of these sets; DRP's Lightz DRP Ambience DasMatze Random Stuff ShyGuy's Alpine Village 1-3 Shyguy's Expo 3000 ShyGuy's Circus Center 1 Iceatcs Billboards DasMatze Invisable Entrance There is a chance that scenary other then these sets could make it into the park. I will tell you if I download any more sets for use in the park. I estimate that the download will be available mid to late July, and I'm also planning a halloween event for the park. It will require both Soaked! and Wild!
asr Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 So, the park has ran into a big roadblock. So, I was planning on making a Super Mario themed kiddie area. Here is where the problem starts. I can only find one scenary set based on the series, and all it is is PIPES. Well, it's something. However, it crashes the game during the first loading sequence. I try a few more times, same thing. I installed it right, I've installed many sets with no hassle. I try again, after un-installing the scenary. It works, so I install the scenary again. Crashes, confirming my fear that the pack is the problem. So, my question is, are there any custom scenary makers here? Or anyone familar with the series? This is something I really wanted to do for the park, and without custom scenary to use, it's essentially impossible...
christianscoasters Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 ^IDK if this helps, but there's probably like 1 or 2 people on TPR that do this. And if I'm right, they're usually not on theses forums. (Usually on like RCPro, etc.) Your best bet is to go to some other forum and ask, or just google it, find a creator, and email them.
asr Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 The problem is, I don't have Email on my computer, and thus can't join any forums, and I lost my password to the Atari forums, and to get it back, I need either a miracleous stroke of memory, or an Email account, so my only choice was to post here.
chmilo24 Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 The same thing happened to me with SteelWorx. Every time I would open a park I created before getting the pack, it would freeze. Then eventually, it stopped.
asr Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 Can't you get a new email account? Doh, I never thought of that, and just kept hoping my dad would eventually set it up on my new computer Also, this is different then you're problem chmilo24. It freezes on the first loading sequence, just after you start up the game. It never got past that. I guess I will try it again though.
asr Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 This park is not dead! I just got bored with it so I started OCP early. Anyway, on to the pictures since there Isn't much to talk about. One last teaser shot. Adieu... Another teaser shot. Inside the entrance for QuickSilver. QuickSilver's logo. Looking down towards Action City. Desperado's photo booth is good indication of the direction this area of the park is going in. Looking up towards the summit. We'll get back to night shots later. Here is the new resteraunt, Minetown Buffet. Unfortunatly for you ACErs out there, it isn't a real buffet... And it doesnt serve gravy. Again. Teaser shot. A stroll down main street. Coasters at night. Volcano. Great White's bridge. Hawaiian Harbor is stunning at night. Parking lot side. It can't be Hawaii without a Volcano. Twisted mass of Steel. Great White is actually silky smooth except for the ending and the Corkscrews. The snazzy entrance to Great White. This S&S Sky Swat is tentativly titled Volcano. New shooting gallery. A tent has gone up over the switchbacks for Screamliner. Screamliner entrance. Screamliner from Hawaiian Harbor. I meant to do this for a long time. The very akward turn after the launch on Screamliner is now a Stengel Dive thing.
cinciDAWGS12 Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Wow!! I wonder what your next coaster will be!! Maybe A B&M Suspended?????
asr Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 Wow, I had thought everyone forgot about this. Well, I haven't been doing anything on this park (all my RCT3 time has been spent working on OCP) so I don't have anything new to show, but I suppose I'll show off the new coaster Also, I might get an on-ride video of the coaster. COASTER FACT FILE Name: Nor'Easter Type: Inverted Looping Company: Bolliger and Mabillard Propulsion: Chain Lift Height: 119 feet Speed: 50 Miles per Hour Length: 2619 feet Drop: 85 feet Duration: 1:13 Theme: Storms Colors: Black track spine, Seafoam green running rails and ties, Silver supports, Seafoam green trains And into the brakes. Nor'Easter is one forcefull, old-school B&M ride. Woooooooooo!!!!!!! Improbably small tunnel. Under the bridge. Shots like this are always fun. YYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! These funky supports make for a frightening foot chopper. Coming back in. It's time for our ride! Don't try this shot at home. If people had been on it, I probably wouldn't have a head right now! From the queue line for Tidal Wave, a splashboats ride. Zoom! Last inversion. Out of the rocks. That's more like it! Immelmann. The trademark B&M invert straightaway. Into the cobra roll. The layout. The first half. The towering lift. In the station. To see it this empty, get in early at the back gate. The queue. Almost like ERT.
asr Posted July 11, 2007 Author Posted July 11, 2007 The area with Nor'Easter and Tidal Wave is completly unfinished. In the final (That is, if I ever finish the park) it will look much better. And don't feel too bad for never having ridden a B&M coaster, they arn't all there cracked up to be. From a design and aesthetics standpoint, they are the best, but in terms of ride expierence they tend to fall behind Intamin coasters.
asr Posted July 29, 2007 Author Posted July 29, 2007 Sorry for the very long wait between updates. This one will be short becuase it is about 2:00 AM here, and I want to get some sleep, and becuse my stupid computer reset while I was taking pictures Also, here is some trivia about what could have been in the park; *Where X-Rail is, an Intamin River Splash like Hydro or Perilous Plunge was going to go, and X-Rail was going to wrap around it. This was scrapped because of difficultys with building a good layout for X-Rail with the water ride in the way. *X-Rail went through many incarnations, and originally was going to have a more spread out layout, with some versions featuring a huge Batwing inversion and other with a tunnel under the midway. *Action City was at first going to be a DC Comics themed area, with X-Rail being themed to Batman, and the Intamin water ride being themed to Aqauman. *An Intamin mini hyper was planned, and would have taken up the areas that X-Rail, Desperado, and the car ride now take up. It would have two lift hills, and start out as a terrain twister, then go up the second, larger lift and become an out and back hypercoaster. *Both Desperado and Quicksilver where made to test out the potential of certain ride types, but I liked both of them enough to keep them. *Originally I wanted an Intamin Impulse coaster in Hawaiian Harbor, and later I planned to have an Intamin Impulse in place of Nor'Easter, and then I planned to have the Impulse be in Hawaiian Harbor again, but this time with it's station and queue inside the volcano! Anyway, on to the pics! Decor on the exit bridge. At this moment, my computer shut down, leaving me 3 pictures short of what I wanted... Art deco station crazyness. Crazy decor on Screamliner's entrance. And this one is for Nor'Easter. Logo time. This one is for Flyin' Eagle. Most of the park from ontop of Detonator. (I also have a 1280x960 version of this pic if anyone wants it) The first vertical drop on Quicksilver, taken from the awesome spiraling queue. Weeee! Quicksilver is another coaster I don't cover much. A nice view of the upper part of Mile High Minetown. Must... Resist... More trees... Or, more accuratly, tree. The new and improved Cyclone. I don't usually cover Desperado, so here it is. Great White's entrance, now with an anamatronic shark! Much needed trees. One of the greatest sights in the world for a coaster enthusiaist.
asr Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 Some comments would be nice people... Anyway, it is updaye time again! This was going to be just a short update, but I got a little carried away. One last shot of Screamliner. It is hard to take a good looking picture of a kiddie coaster with such absurd trains, but I tried! Double down goodness. Desperado goes down it's drop. Because of the lag, this shot took forever to line up. I advise that you DO NOT PLAY this park on a low-end computer. I have a decent computer and put the settings way down, and it still lags like crazy. Same picture, different angle. Again. Screamliner is sexier than you. Mmmmmm... This why they call it "Coaster Pr0n" instead of "Coaster Pictures". The other. One of the original pictures used to make the above combination shot. This would have been such a cool shot. A pity the sky didn't quite match up. ...And a Vekoma rots your teeth! Awesome corkscrew shot. This is one of the best pictures in my opinion. Just remember kids, a B&M a day keeps the doctor away... Yummy. Wooooooo!!! Funky angle. Artsy corkscrew shot. Sideloop! Loop! And now your recomended daily intake of coaster pr0n. Buy fried clams and amusment park food at the Clam Shack. Tilt-A-Whirl. Logo. Desperado's entrance. And now the real update. This is "Texas Twister". Screamliner's bridge over GTFR. We will start with the 'Lost Pictures" from last night/this morning. This is one of two electrical sheds for Screamliner.
Steffen_Dk Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Looks very good - your computer must lack much??
mike541x Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Wow great park. You got alot of cool roller coasters.
asr Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 Looks very good - your computer must lack much?? If you are saying that my computer isn't powerfull, that isn't really the case. It has an Athlon 64 3500+, Geforce 6800 GT, and gigabyte of memory, which would have been a decently powerfull system when the game came out. If you are asking if it lags, not really. It runs the game smoothly unless I am playing a big park like this.
Steffen_Dk Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Pretty impressive I think this park is quite big, and I don't think one of my computers can run this without problems
Adrenaline_Rush Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Wow this park is so realistic, I have some negative feedback to improve the park though, which is only from my point of view other people may comment as they wish. Lights need to be put on Screamliner and other rides at night For the second launch on Screamliner add a tunnel like Mavericks Get rid of the B&M's red rails, it looks all funky (try dark yellow or just reg. yellow) Otherwise, this park looks amazing, KUTGW (Keep up the good work)!
asr Posted August 6, 2007 Author Posted August 6, 2007 Lights need to be put on Screamliner and other rides at night I have actually never tried doing lights on coasters before, But I might try. Besides, alot of the fun of riding a coaster at night is the darkness and not seinng were you are going. For the second launch on Screamliner add a tunnel like Mavericks I am sorry, but I don't plan too. It wouldn't really fit the theme, it would look ugly sitting there by itself, and it would remove a major element of the ride, the fact that you can see the ride launch from the exit bridge. Get rid of the B&M's red rails, it looks all funky (try dark yellow or just reg. yellow) I will see how yellow looks next time I play.
asr Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 Ok, just a real quick update because I am going too SFNE tommorow and want too go too bed early, and because I haven't done much work. The park at night. The new gift shop, Log Cabin Gifts. Seating area next too it. Plymouth Fishing Company, the new restaruant. And the current red. Which of these is your favorite? Yellow. First off, I am trying out new X-Rail colors. Here is orange rails and ties.
Steffen_Dk Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 I have to disagree. I think yellow is the best.
