arrowfanman Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Hey everybody! Well, with all the SFMM-Updates, I like to throw in an actual PTR every once and a while to let you guys know I actually do visit the park as a guest every now and then! Well this last week, my two nieces were down here from Oregon and we thought we’d go over and spend a few hours with them at SFMM. I was really looking forward to sharing some of the park improvements we’ve seen with my family, as my entire family bags on the park as badly as coaster enthusiasts do! But alas, that didn’t entirely work according to plan. Unfortunately, I have to say this was one of my WORST park visits in recent months. The entire park just seemed off rhythm. Well, I figure one’s pain is another’s pleasure, so I hope you guys enjoy this PTR! Anyway, we arrived at the park around 1:30. This line took 20-minutes to get through! We had to purchase one of the “20-dollar-friend days” at the ticket booths, so we got in line for the only ticket-booth open. The line took 20 minutes to get through and I could see several other employees just hanging out, looking out the windows in the booth! It was ridiculous! I considered asking for a lead upon arriving at the window, but to my dismay…she was the lead! Anyway, we finally get our ticket, spend a few minutes at security (my belt sets of the detector and they weren’t convinced) and argued at the front gate with the employee for a few more minutes. *sigh* See, I had my season pass booklet and wanted to use my “Free Friend” admission for my mom and my “Free Child” admission for my niece. Well, the employee (who was probably responding defensively, used to guests who try to use both “Free Friend” tickets, which isn’t allowed) argued that we couldn’t get both of them in, which isn’t the case. So, after asking to speak to a lead and whatnot, we finally got in. *sigh* I know I’m complaining a lot, but c’mon! When we finally made it in the gate, I checked the time and it was 2:00. It took us 30 minutes just to get in the park! We were already burnt out! My niece looks pretty evil here! Promptly after taking this, her head spun around and she threw up split-pea soup. Anyway, upon entering the park my mother and aunt took my younger niece to hit up Bugs Bunny Land. My sister and I took our older niece Alexa off to ride the “big kid rides”. Yay! Anyway, Alexa insisted we ride Revolution. So why not! I still cant get over how much Tatsu towers over Revolution! Xtreme vertical loopage G’s!!! Our ride on Revolution was pretty much your average ride on Revolution—long, boring, and annoyingly-painful. Alexa got off the ride and said she didn’t remember it sucking so much. Sorry Mike! Boo commemorating rides that are a mere shell of what they used to be!...oh, and boo ACE! Tomorrow happens to be my last day as an ACEr, BTW. …well…my second last day. After Revolution we made our way further up the hill and had to hit up Tatsu. Alexa rode it last year and liked it, so she was really looking forward to riding again. Spitting, sleeping, or dead? You decide. Dispatches were moderately-crappy. Got on in about 15-minutes with Flashpasses, waiting 3 trains. Nobody seemed to have it together today. At least Revolution is good for something! At least the actual ride is still fun. After Tatsu, we decided to head down the hill towards Deja rather up towards Ninja because Ninja was posted as closed outside. It wasn’t. We headed down the hell towards the former Psyclone (which Alexa found absolutely amusing!) upon which I had to apologize to the girls and take some pictures of the wall they’re installing to block out the Psyclone-area and Dejavu without a lift cable. What?! We then proceeded over to ride Jet Stream. Alexa wanted to ride and there was no line, so I said “why not”…one of those rides I don’t ride as much when I do update runs. Either this guy thinks he’s pretty badass, or has some explosive flatulence. Or both! We got over to the boat they were loading us in and before I boarded, noticed there was a good 2-inches of standing water in the boat! And it was all milky and nasty! I asked for another boat and the operator gave me a tired stare and said “they’re all like that.” So we surrendered and reluctantly took the boat, keeping our feet on the seats. I drew a blue line in case it’s hard to see the water-level. Boat-sex is actually how they grow new boats for the rides! Had this focused better, this would have been a pretty cool shot! The girls seem to be enjoying their ride. As for me?... …Not so much! I got soaked and not by the ride’s splash, but from all of that milky, disease-ridden waste water IN the boat! Notice how I’m wet in splotches and not blobs, which are how you usually get wet from splashes. It’s because I’m wet from the INSIDE of the boat…not the outside!... Covered in JetStream-milk or Moo-milk? BTW…TPR hoodies. Yeah. They’re absorbent. After JetStream it was time to ride the best ride in the park!... I love you Riddler’s Revenge! UNFORTUNATELY, the ride was sporting a line past the block brake, which on a day as empty as today, means the crew was probably lacking and pulling a 45-minute to 1-hour queue. Nope! Don’t love you THAT much Riddler’s! If I was working it, there would be a 15 minute line! Instead, we thought we’d rather walk right onto Scrambler, which is a great ride! I may be on the outside seat, but this was still better than my ride with Chris and Joey on Sunday! Again, after Scrambler I had to apologize and go take pictures of the “Johnny Rockets” sign from about 4 or 5 different angles, and saw the girls eyeing Circus Wheel. So I figured, “why not!” I actually hadn’t been on the ride since the refurb last year! I quickly regret the decision to ride! Actually, it wasn’t that bad. In fact, our ride was more lame than spinney. The cab was so well balanced, we faced the center the whole time! Exiting Circus Wheel, we were all actually feeling sort of hungry. I didn’t want to actually purchase a meal of anything, so seeing there was no wait for Papa John’s Pizza, I thought I’d grab us some cheese bread, which is actually really good. I mean, butter, garlic, and cheese! You can’t go wrong with that! “Pepperoni Spreader”—I don’t if I should be scared or intrigued! 10-minutes after giving them our money, we finally got our cheese bread. *drools* OMG that looks beautiful! I cant think of a caption for this that wouldn’t get me killed at home! After Papa John’s, we thought we’d hit up Batman, which was decent (other than getting stapled ). And then Alexa went for a ride on the Atom Smasher, which I sat out for as that is one ride I really don’t need to ride ever again! Ah! Stupid! She’s trying to fight it! *sigh* I guess I still have a lot to teach my nieces about riding rides! Anyway, we decided it would be best to meet up with the rest of our party in Bunny World again. Grace likes a few flat rides as well, that my mom wont go on, so I thought we’d do a small flat ride tour. First up, we decided to take her on her first ride on Sierra Twist. I really don’t like this picture of me! It had so much potential that just didn’t translate! Then it was time for Buccaneer, the swinging ship! She wondered were “Jack Sparrow” was. Ahh…the innocence of the youth. Liked it so much, she wanted to ride again! And again! *sigh* …and again… Stupid-ass girls screaming at the top of their lungs for no reason other than they thought they were being funny. How I’d like to hurl a bucket of lava down your throats! Everybody liked the swings! *sigh* So much, we had to ride a few more times! Yeah—there’s an exit gate open. *sigh* Ooooh. Must have taken their foot of the petal or something. We all stopped swinging high off of the ground! Instead of grabbing another ride with the rest of the family, I offered to go take Alexa on Goliath, provided the line wasn’t bad. And it didn’t seem that way! She’s giving me the finger! *shakes fist* So how long should this queue take? 10? 15 minutes? Took 30 minutes, thanks to transferring on a train without announcing it. I don’t know why the staff wouldn’t WANT to announce it. Saying “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re currently in the process of adding another train to the ride. This process will take 5-10 minutes but will allow the line to move faster and you to get on more quickly.”…or SOMETHING along those lines. Just acknowledge the guests is all I’m saying! We don’t like to be ignored. I’m only saying this because I hope that the Magic management reads the message boards when they’re at home and they’re bored. Going down Goliath’s drop or eating the SkyTower? You decide! Anyway, by the time we finally got off of Goliath, we were impatiently being waited on by the rest of the group. It was time to leave. The girls had dinner plans to attend to. While we all felt the day was “a hassle”, Alexa and Grace liked it, so it was worth it. So I leave you with a horrible picture of me getting high off the tram fumes. Obviously, you can tell I’ve never actually been high. I’m so going to Heck! Don’t worry…I’ll invite my TPR-friends over from the inner-city for some kabobs or something. The funny thing is, the driver didn’t even have it in gear when he tried to take off. Thanks for reading guys! Hope you managed to enjoy it! -Jahan
Mr.Six Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Boo! Rev H8ter! Nice Trip Report! Too bad you guys had a crappy time, you know whenever I go with out of town friends the visits always seem to be a little but more painful than usual. I sense a conspiracy... _six
SharkTums Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 I hate Papa Johns pizza, but yeah, that Cheese bread stuff is usually really kickass! Nice TR! I'm shocked you've exposed your sister to the world of TPR...get ready for fan mail!
ECZenith Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Bastard! Ninja was running?!?! Grrrrrr, I missed it. Beautiful Tatsu photos man!
arrowfanman Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 ^ I think it was, but was broken down for lengthy times throughout the day. Alexa said she wanted to ride it, but I could tell she had changed her mind as we were over there. Thanks for the comments guys! -Jahan
Jayjay719 Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I enjoyed the trip report! I always like reading these, it helps me get through my offseason blues! One more week though! I'm a big fan of log rides, are the two log rides at Magic Mountain good? Anyway, Thanks for sharing Jahan!

Although both are known for their logs being filled with "Magic Mountain Soup". _six
Jayjay719 Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 ^ Thanks. I've never been to Magic Mountain but I'm looking to plan going soon.
thefitness Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Either this guy thinks he’s pretty badass, or has some explosive flatulence. Or both! Is it me or does it look like this guy has a huge mullet? I really hope that hair is from the person behind him! Anyways, nice pictures. Hopefully this was just an off day for the park. It seemed like for a small amount of time they were heading in the right direction.
