Going to Florida

I leave on the 6th at 9ish pm from Indy and start driving, when I get tired, someone else will drive, and continue this way until we get to Lakeland, FL. Sleep overnight in Lakeland. Then get up at 7am to head to Disney to get in Space Mountain and Indy Test track Credit before the crowds get bad. Then it is up where on the map I am. I plan on hitting Rock n Roller Coaster featureing Aerosmith, Expiditon Everest, and any other coaster I can find. The next day will be all for leisure at the resort where I am staying, hoping to hop on a jet ski. Then the next day will be for Wet n Wild Water Park. The next day (sundy the 11th) is strickly for visiting with Grandparents and going to a beach. The 12th I am going to Busch Gardens and the 13th I am going to Cypress Gardens. That night, plenty of sleep and start driving at eithe 4, 6 or 8am to get back to Indiana.

You might be the only person to come to Lakeland and not take in any spring training baseball.

 

Most northerners are driving around here like total idiots with their Michigan, Indiana, Canada, etc plates.

 

Granted they are like 100 years old and never fail to mention "well this isn't how it's done up north."

My Grandparents live in Lakeland half the year. I am only going to Disney for roller coasters.

Well Test Track at EPCOT isn't a coaster, so you can skip that park completely because there's no credits there.

If I was only interested in roller coasters, I am not sure WDW would be my park of choice. And even just riding the roller coasters, it's still gonna be very tough to hit all four parks in one day, or 3 if you skip EPCOT, but good luck with it.

The top coasters I want to get to:

 

1. Space Mountain (magic hours)

2. Expedition Everest

3. Any other ride I can catch along the way.

I don't think I could plan a trip to the gas station in ten lines, let alone an 8 or 9 day trip to WDW. I think you need to do some research and a little more planning.

I am going to disney for one day, that was my planning, I could care less about how little I get to see. I haven't been on vacation in 14 years and only have 5 days, so I am trying ot get a diverse selection. If I wasn't getting free tickets, I wouldn't be going to disney at all.

Between the fact that you're staying in Lakelend, which is a pretty good (read: bad) distance from the parks, and the fact that you want to hit all four WDW parks in one day, this should be pretty amusing.

 

I'm also assuming you're spending a whole day at Cypress Gardens because it's cheaper (or you have free tickets to that as well?)

You have alot planned for a few short days, but don't forget about Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. If you are looking for coaster credits... The Hulk, Dueling Dragons, also, I am not sure if it is a coaster credit or not, but the Mummy as well. Is that a credit? being that it's indoors? Maybe someone can square me away on that. Not that I am trying to talk you out of Disney by any means, but Universal is every bit as good, if not better.

What kind of feedback were you looking for with an initial post just stating your almost impossible plans? Did you want people to praise you for attempting it, or did you want honest answers from people trying to help you out, and maybe not waste money or time on something that pretty much cannot be done, especially at a very crowded time in the month. Have you looked at the park operating hours yet, they're all opened late because it's going to be crowded.

Best of luck to you, but don't come back here badmouthing Disney if you don't get everything done that you want in 1 day.

at this point, I cannot fit in IOA or Universal due to money and time issues (I only have 1300 for the whole thing, and so far it is all gone with car rental, gas, food, tickets to planned attractions) and I am only taking 7 1/2 days off from work so I planned what I could. My family does have plans to try to go to Florida once every couple years, so I am going to try to get some other parks in next time I go down. As for next year, I am already planning, I plan to either go to Texas (SFOT; SFFT; Kemah; Schlitterbahn; Joyland {Grezzy since I missed it at SFAW}) or California (GA {formerly PGA}; SFMM; Knott's; Santa Cruz Boardwalk) My uncle lives 3 miles from GA, so I could possibly stay at his place. I also am going to Vegas in July, my uncle is paying for hotel and flight. I just got to save money for whatever else.

 

And yes, the coaster sites I goto still have plenty of activity.

I am sorry people are beating up on your plan for Disney. Your vacation is just that, YOURS. Use it as you see fit, and have a great time. If I may be allowed to make an observation? If you do go to Disney and are only interested in doing the coasters then you might be able to do the 4 parks in one day with your park hopper. But, I think you may be missing out on alot of the fun. I know I will probably catch hell for this, but, there are more to the parks than coasters. There are alot of great shows as well. I posted a few TPR's over the last 6 months, a few of them from Disney parks. Check out my profile, and you can read all of my posts. I do want to re-iterate Universal though. I know you mentioned you were on a budget. Truthfully, if you buy a ticket to both Universal and IOA one day two park pass, as well as the fast pass, which usually is only about 30 dollars total for both parks, you can do almost everything in both parks in one day. It will make for a long day, but I have done it plenty of times. It will probably cost you a total of about 120 dollars, give or take. Also, they are having Mardi Gras right now, and though I have never been, I hear it is a great time.

Well, I wouldn't say that it's impossible to do all the coasters at WDW in one day with a park hopper, but you're going to be pretty beat when you're done. Here's what I'd do if I were going to try this:

 

Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning--hit Everest first, then Primeval Whirl.

 

Magic Kingdom next--maybe "fast-pass" Space Mountain, then wait in line for Thunder Mountain (depends on the lateness of the fast-pass return time), then ride Space (might be able to squeeze in Goofy's Branstormer if you're still waiting for your fast-pass return time)

 

Disney-MGM next--Fast-pass Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, ride Tower of Terror (heck, you might as well) while waiting for your fast-pass time (again, this depends on the lateness of the return time).

 

Epcot (assuming this all works out)--you can check out the lines for Test Track and Mission: Space, and if the waits are just too long, you can always check the place out and catch Illuminations.

 

Please bear in mind that this hare-brained plan has every chance of failing due to crowds, ride breakdowns, and other snafus, and it doesn't allow for meals (you'd have to grab 'n' go). Plus, if any member of your IM Force is caught or killed, the secretary of State will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck.

That's a good plan.

 

But just know, I went from AK to MGM Saturday, got to MGM around 1pm and RnR was already out of fast passes. The standby line was well over a 60 minute wait, I want to say it was around 75-90 minute wait. So plan ahead for that.

Thanks that is what I have been trying ot get out. I haven't been anywhere on vacation in 14 years and just started riding coasters last Sept. So as of right now, I cannot do US or IOA because of my time frame, I am losing a day to driving, so out of the 7 days I am gone, 5 are going to be free. and I got 4 parks I want to go to and atleast the beach once.
