CW have been slowly updating their Website, removing PCW references and updating logos here and there. So far, here are the actual park changes that they have mentioned (nothing exciting):

New restaurants:

Coasters

"Our all new 50's style diner!" Located in Action Zone by Italian Job (must be an entirely new building)

The Marketplace - International Buffet

"Our all-new indoor market style all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant" (I think this is a new location as well...it's not replacing the Back Lot Cafe as I would have expected).

A few name changes here and there, but otherwise the same (generally) poor outside vendors are still here.

Shows

Endless Summer (ice show in what used to be the Paramount Theatre)

Twistin' to the 60's (International Showplace)

(the Dora show, which we hit every time we're there, is still listed; mention of the stunt show has been removed from the site)

They have also updated the site with new Season Pass images, which I am guessing are closer to what we can expect to see.

My hope is that they have done a lot of general clean-up in the park. Maintenance has always been very good, but given that it's 27 years old, some basic things, like seating, gardens, railings, fountains, etc. had become tired. There is a job fair this weekend. It would be great to see a higher standard of training under the new leadership. I think it's fair to expect better service at a theme park fast food location than a food court one (although this is rarely the case).

Sorry there isn't much exciting news to report, but at least us CW pass holders get a great deal on the MAXX Pass (around $85USD) so we can hit the other parks just a few hours away!

$85 Maxx Pass? Does that include Cedar Point?

Not that I usually head up to Toronto, but that would be pretty sweet. Haven't been to PCW in 8 years. I still find it odd that most of my friends claim the Bat and Top Gun are the two greatest rides ever.

P.S. Would you drive to the Point via the QEW or 401?

$85 US. It's like $100 Canadian after taxes I think. And yes it includes Cedar Point and every other Paramount/Cedar Fair park.

I'm not familiar with Belle River. Where are you located? Wether you take the QEW or the 401 depends on where you're coming from.

This sounds like the restaraunt at Cedar Point by Raptor. I always liked that place, so this sounds decent.

Edit: I just looked up Belle River. Are you seriously asking wether you should take the 401 or QEW to Cedar Point?? To take the QEW you'd have to drive like 3+ hours in the wrong direction.

Or are you asking from PCW to Cedar Point? In that case it'd be quicker to take the QEW to Buffalo, and come down I80/I90.

CW to Cedar Point I usually do the circle tour - down the QEW, cross at Buffalo, and then cross back at Detroit and up the 401. Less boring that way, and CP is pretty much the same distance either way.

Oh, God, no. I've been to CP/looked at any basic map long enough to know that through Detroit is quicker for me.

I was referring to the OP's location (Milton), which if I'm not mistaken, is just outside of Toronto.

That's a really good deal for the Pass, considering CP's season pass is... what, $115 US now?

Kind of like what we do with WDW. We take I-77 down through West Virginia/I-95, then I-75 all the way back.

It just occured to me that you have to do a sort of hook around Lake Erie either way for the CP trip.

*Heck, geographically, I'm about 70 miles from Cedar Point... wish the ferry to Pelee Island/Sandusky was a bit faster.

The ferry has been tempting, but it wouldn't save any time for me, and the departures are inconvenient.

From Milton, I am only 20-30 mins from Wonderland (on the 407). Cedar Point is 4.5-5 hours, depending on the border.

Where do you cross over from I-77 to 95? I would never think about doing it before D.C. cause D.C. can be a nightmare depending on the day and time that you get on the beltline. Once you get past there, 95 seems to be a lot better heading south.

Apparently, I use I-26 for maybe 50 miles as a go-between, between Columbia SC and... open space. (Just north of Charleston) Rest assured that D.C. would be out of my way, no matter what.

I suppose the Marketplace location makes sense - that site hasn't been well-used for years, although it's a great place to grab a beer and sit lakeside. And it's close to the centre of the park.

So Coasters is where some other stuff was. What did they demolish? I am guessing the crappy old recording studio/airbrush buildings? It also looks like they got rid of the Sol Loco/Orbiter for good. The last photo shows Coasters right next to the restrooms, which is pretty much where it was.

Well So Loco was located a bit back from there. Looks like Coasters is being built right up at the path, where that mini hill was.

So So Loco could still be there, as it would be sitting further back.

Though if it is still there then it will be even more hidden then it was before.

My son is working there again this year - 3rd year. This time he is assitant manager in the admissions dept. He was at an orientation last week and it was indicated that the Mission Impossible stunt show from last year (in the parking lot) will be back this year. It does not sho it on the web site but that was what he said.

Interesting. Well, that's good news - I didn't get to see it last year (although I heard it many times from the parking lot). The only downside is that it eats parking space.

Yeah, but the lot is absolutely massive and never gets filled to capacity anyways. If they scrap Dragon Fire (here's hoping...), they could put a new coaster at the old site and in the parking lot. There's so much room there.

I often eat at the Marketplace all-you-can-eat place at Cedar Point. It's not much more than the regular meals. You can get some decent food and you won't have to deal about small portions.

I'm surprised they built a Coasters so fast. I'd bet it's exactly the same as the one they built in Michigan's Adventure last year. I'm sure they'll "cookie cutter" them into the other Paramount parks within the next few years.
