robbeal
Okay, I don't know if anyone can help me with this or not, but it's worth a try. Heading out to Liseberg in June, flying from England to Gothenburg airport, and need to get to Liseberg. I belive the park is around 11miles from the airport, so does anyone know what the best way of getting there would be? Also, I land mid morning, and the park doesn't open til 2, so is Gothenburg city centre en route from the airport or not? Cheers for any help I can get. nemesis-storm
As I'm going to Liseberg this weekend I take it your flying with Ryan Air? Get the bus (look on the airports website) to the main train station in Gothenburg. It's around £4 each way Then get a tram to the park , the park is on tram route 5 - you will need to change however
robbeal
Oh cheers for the advice! Well, if you could do me a big favour this weekend, could you let me know where to bus leaves from the airport, how much it costs, and how to get the right trams. Thanks again, makes things immensely easier for me!
nemesis-storm
Right - now back from visiting Liseberg. If you are flying with Ryan Air – they fly to Gothenburg CITY airport There is a bus from the Airport to the main bus/train station in Gothenburg. It leaves the airport around 40 Mins after your plane has arrived. The cost is 50 SEK (around £4) The bus journey takes 30 Mins, it only stops at 1 place before reaching the station. Regarding trams to the park there are trams that go to the park (as we saw them). You will have to look into that yourself, there is info on the net. As we walked to the park, after we dropped our bags off at our hotel. I would say it’s a 20 – 30 min walk from the station to the park. Hope that helps a bit. Hope you enjoy the park as much as we did
robbeal
Ah cheers, you're a legend! With regards to 'Gothenburg CITY' airport, I only knew of one airport available through Ryanair, and that is the one 11miles east of the city. The journey time on the bus about equates there, so I guess we're going to the same airport!
Martyn
Is it a simple walk? As we'll have plenty of time I think, with the park not opening till 2. If not, how do you say "where is Liseberg please?" in Swedish?
deathmole
^ Martyn, Martyn Martyn - you forget the simple advise for talking to people who dont speak fluent english. "POINT AND TALK LOUDLY". Got me round Ohio *dodges bullets*
Martyn
How would I know what to point at? Actually, I supposed I could write "Liseberg" on a bit of paper, and point at that
deathmole
Ya see, it's full proof! I'm going to have the same problems with Six Flags Holland (cant spell its new name, ). Should be interesting to see how it goes!

Gothenburg has 2 airports - 'City' being the nearest to the err city Only Ryan Air fly to/from there - no other commerical airline does. Regards to walking, most Swedish folk we met, spoke English very well. If you head towards Ullevi Stadium (hope thats spelt right) in the distance you should see the tower for the observation tower. SharkTums
See this is what I'm concerned with! I actually know more Japanese than all of these European Languages we're going to need. There will be a lot of pointing to pieces of paper...but no loud talking! We're going to try and show everyone that not all Americans suck! Elissa "Liseberg wa doku desu ka...oh wait, that's japanese!" Alvey
Martyn
We could just print a map maybe!
Shadowforce
Don't worry, most Europeans have a good grasp of the english langue. Learning some basic words in the most common langues is a good idea too. For example, a person speaking Danish can easily communicate with a Sweede or a Norwegian, and can say the most basic of stuff in German and Dutch.
