Laugh Floor Comedy Club

Recommended Posts

Let me start off by saying this. I'm not to fond of shows and the like. I've been to Epcot 4 times and have never seen Fantasia (let alone anything outside of future world). So maybe my thoughts will be a bit biased. I don't see how this "club" will be successful. No cover, no 2 drink minimum, and worst of all NO PROFANITY! How can a comedy club be successful without dirty jokes. Okay I'm half kidding about this because jokes don't have to be dirty to be funny. But this attraction will get stale fast. It's one of those "see it once" attractions. I might actually go since it's new. I feel bad because when I was a kid disney seemed so awesome but looking at it know there's only a few rides that make my stomach tingle. Well I kinda got off topic. I'm not saying Disney's bad or anything but I just need a way to pass my 4 hours in between class and typing does the trick.

^It is more like Turtle Talk, as most of it will be done live.

I think that if they try hard enough, it can be great. I mean, I do improv at my high school. We can't use any profanity or any sexual innuendos and stuff, yet somehow our shows are absolutely hilarious. If Disney does it right, it can be a great show.

A big group of us saw a guest preview of this show in December, and I hate to report that I didn't think it was that great. Only one person out of our group seemed to really enjoy it. Everyone else gave it around a 5/10...not *bad* but not really good either.

I know that what I saw was just a preview, so I can more than overlook some of the technical malfunctions they had (at one point, a character was speaking, but the mouth of the animation on screen wasn't moving, and some of the speakers were quite low). But we saw almost exactly the same show twice, with only certain parts involving audience members being changed. It seemed to drag a little bit, especially when they picked a kid too young to know what was going on when the camera was on her!

One downside I saw was that the vast majority of the show was scripted. I really think that in order to make the show interesting, it will need to be much more improvised, else there will be nearly ZERO repeat value to it. Of course, maybe they have tons of scripts and were just previewing that one that day, I don't know. But I know that the actors are former Comedy Warehouse and Adventurer's Club actors, so they can be very hilarious if given a chance!

Having seen the very rough preview of the show, it will be really interesting to see what the final product turns out to be. I have a feeling that it will have the same sort of reception that Stitch got though
