Swoosh
New in 2007, White Water Adds 7-Story, 6-Slide Thrill Ride! Released: Branson, Mo. New in 2007, White Water presents its biggest ride ever - a 7-story, 6-slide, multi-experience thrill ride. Higher than White Water's previous largest slide by over two stories, the new ride will be 75 feet high, with two 300-foot drop slides for top-speed body sliding and four additional 312-foot lane slides for four-lane speed racing. The new $1.5 million ride adds more ways to glide and slide at Branson's Beach Within Reach -- with nearly 7,000 feet of slides and 12 rides and attractions for the ultimate summer splashdown experience. With two million gallons of cool, water-drenched indulgence, White Water is an aquatic oasis where guests can swim, surf, splash and slide in water-cooled comfort. Ride lovers will find plenty of fast-paced rides from the new slides to the white-water rapids of the Caribbean Plunge and Tropical Twister. Surf enthusiasts can ride on tubes or bodysurf the breaking waves of the 500,000-gallon wave pool, and leisure floaters can drift with the current of the Lazy River. Families play together in the super-soaked RainTree Island, while kids rule at Splash Island and Little Squirts' Waterworks. For the ultimate in poolside comfort, Cool Cabanas are available for rent, enclosed on two sides with televisions, fans and seating, for semi-private gatherings for up to 8 people. Free life jackets and tubes, and a full staff of certified lifeguards are always on hand. White Water, a Silver Dollar City Attraction, is open May 25 - September 3. Jeezus Juice
Sounds good but it's kinda hard to get an idea of what exactly thery're building just from the press release. Is there concept art anywhere? Maybe I'll actually check out the water park next time I'm in Branson. Although if it was Yakov themed at all I already would,ve been! -Don
Swoosh
You can view concept artwork on our preview page for the slides. It is located where Paradise Falls was -- it was removed. There at the corner of 76 Country Music Drive and the entrance to the 90 Outlet Mall (Red Roof Outlet Mall). http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/new/kalani/
Homer
Wow, I am surprised a water park is adding speed slide towers. Especially since these days, most water parks (like Adventure Island in Florida) have been removing theirs. Unless its relocated? (doubt it, just curious)
Shavethewhales
Meh, I've never been too impressed with speed towers, they don't offer to much on the thrill side and they are very uncomfortable. They're like the old rusty Arrow loopers of water parks. As for the other slides, meh... looks like they'll spray a lot of water into the face. I would have been happier if they had just put in a large multiple slide tower, they kinda need one anyway, but ah well...
Swoosh
No the slides are brand new from ProSlide. Honestly the park needed body slides as all they had were raft slides. Mind you that the speed slides are replacing the old speed slides that were "camel humped" instead of straight down. They will be a good fit for the park and highly visible from 76 County Music Blvd. I have heard they plan on adding some bowls in the very near future. christianscoasters
The speed slide at Derby has some good airtime but REALLY hurts . You come off of the slide and hit your head every time. Take my advice: It's not worth it. http://www.rockriverrapids.com/ As for WWB, that looks like a good addition. I love the racing slides.
cobra_roll06
I've never been a fan of speed slides. They hurt your back way to much and I hate how you can't see cause the amount of water that is sprayed in your face. They are a good idea but just are to painful for me. Oh god it sounds like i'm talking about Vekoma

thrillrideseeker
Is it just me or do the two body slides acutally look like fun? If only they were like 100 ft taller ~Matthew
Shavethewhales
^Meh, personally I hate speed slides. All the ride consists of is a constant hard spray in the face and a massive wedgie. The old ones were all right due to the humps which canceled out most of the spraying. These just look painful to me. At least the racing slides will be like the old ones.
