Here are some fresh new photos from two parks in Israel. Luna Park and Superland. They're both a little bit more than a year old now, but I don't believe that anything's changed so on to the pics. I'm sorry that I could only get a few pictures. I didn't actually know about PTRs back then so yah...

Luna Park- Nice foliage and atmosphere, a good selection of rides and an overall fun park.

Superland- Better rides, worse maintenance, awesome river rapids, the worst part is that there was some akward hight thing on the Loop 2000 (Pinfari somenumbers someletters) like 56.5 inches or something strange and at the time I was too small to ride.

(sorry the pics are in the wrong order, normally I have to upload them backward for it to work but not this time . Just read them from the bottom up. )

I'll start this update off with a picture of Luna Park's wet/dry slide.

Overview of the nice looking park taken from this park's star attraction, a rotating observation tower that rises strangely.

Now I'm at Superland, and this is the really rollercoaster tycoon looking log flume. It really does look like that!

Some weird flat ride thing called Grand Canyon.

I'd never seen this before!

Here's Kumba, my first inverted coaster and this park's star attraction besides their sky coaster and awesome river rapids.

Kumba's immelman/sidewinder/sea serpant inversion thingy. I can't remember what it's really called.

I will end this update with a picture of Kumba's brake run and me saying that I'm not to sure why I rode it twice.

the parks in Israel are getting to be kind of Vekoma Land.

but looks some of Pinfari's are gettin' bad from lack of ride's

checkups. these might be gonna start to be more rusty.....

I always love learning about amusement parks in odd places, and I have an interest in Israel/Tel Aviv. Fantastic pictures, thanks for sharing.

Thats a Mondial Supernova. There is only one in the US now. Its at the State Fair Of Texas but it stays on site all year. Adventureland NY also had one until 2006 by the name of "SurfDance"

^Oh, so that's what it is.

I almost got on Kumba. Tampa was just a little too far from Sanibel and Captiva Island, or Fort Meyers where I'm spending my winter break.

I have to leave to go to the airport in two hours from the time of this writing.

Yay, back to KC. At least we're getting the Cedar Fair Maxx Pass for 2007 so I may actually go to WOF more than once.

Oh yah, I'm going to Scotland during spring break and I am going to go to M & D's Scotland Theme Park. Yet another interesting PTR.

Posted

^ yeah M & D's is my home park and to be honest I wouldn't even call it a theme park. It's rubbish! Yeah the indoor arcade is pretty good but the theme park is rubbish. The main rolloer coaster their "Tornado" contains more pain on a ride than any vekoma I have been on. (and i have been on a lot). Last session they took away the corkscrew at the end of the ride as so many poeple had complain about the pain they experienced on that park of the ride. There used to be quite a lot of good flat rides but ever since they bought the VERY small inverted coaster they have got rid of them. I hope they have bought better ones for the new session.

Oh, hey, are you Israeli too?

Crap, there goes one trademark for me... Oh well, I still got "Resident cartoonist", unless the Six Flags make a triumphant comeback.

And I disagree abotu osme things you said:

1) do not think the ofoliage at Luna Park is nice at all whereas the one at Superland is beautiful, and I beleive Superland maintenance to be a LOT better. Also, Israeli snt really vekomaland because there are more pinafaris in israel than there are vekomas(there are two veokma coasters, and at least 3 pinafaris)

2)things HAVE changed since these pictures were tkaen in Luna Park Tel Aviv. the steep, SBNO slide was replaced with two new, red, nmot as steep slides, and the seating area udner anaconda's lift has been replaced with a driving school attraction

^ There is another Israeli that's not you, nor Hobbesx 2, you know. But i can't remember his name right now...

Great TR Hobbesx! I love seeing photos of amusement parks that aren't usually photographed.

EDIT: Krouvi! That's the other Israelite.

Posted

^Well whoever that is I do not recall bumping into them.

Confession: I always feel a bit threatened when I bump into another Israeli who actually knows what Pinafari IS.

I like to beleive I am Israel's biggest coasterhead, and guy with highest coaster count(81)

If you would read from my sig, my home park is WOF, obviously stating that I'm NOT Israeli, although I did live there for 7 and 1/2 months. Also, a bunch of the flat rides are Vekoma, that's why it's Vekomaland.

FLIPDUDE, where do you live? It would be hilarious if I knew you. I lived in Ranaana near Tel Aviv.

Even if I did permanently live in Israel, my coaster count would be very low. It's low now, but that's only because I moved back and got to some parks.

The changes to Luna Park sound nice! Is that kiddie go kart ride in between Anaconda and Rakevet Harim still there?!? I rode that with my friend when we went at least 5 times.

EDIT- Now I know why I haven't seen any trip reports from you, FLIPDUDE! There's almost nothing to do a PTR on there. By the way, how's the Rakevet Harim in Haifa? I never got to that.

Posted

^I doubt we know each other. I live in Tel Aviv,a nd TRUST m,e I'd rmember r unning into an ameircan coaster ethusiast

The kiddy go kart thing is still there, though it never was between rakevet harim and anaconda, its moreso betwen the anaconda and the fferris wheel. now there's the driving school next to it.

The Rakevet harim in haifa is awsome if you keep your expecatitons low - I expected it to really suck, but it ended up being quite fun!

There's also two other coasters in ISrael I ahve yet gotten to rride. one at a park called Park Hae'mek near HAifa and one at some religious kibbutz park, which I know nothing about

Posted

^yah, I think I'm much younger than you anyway.

Does the Rakevet Harim in Haifa actually have a mountain theme? That would be interesting to see next time I'm there.

I think that the one at Park Ha' Emek is a something Galaxi model. (Like at Cliff's Amusement Park). If I remember right at the Herzliyah Marina and Mall they were building a kiddy coaster.

Posted

^seriously?? at Arena mall? I always figured if any mallw as to get a coaster it owuld be that one...

and yes, the rakevet harim in haifa does have a mountain theme

Posted

I am from Israle too and I think I was the first one in here but the more the better.

I have many pocs to upload from our local parks.

The supernova is my fav ride in both parks. Indeed kind of Vekoma land as the 2 parks are owned by smae people and they made a deal to buy some rides.

I live in Tel Aviv 5 minutes from the Luna Park and been there thousands of times.

About the coaster in arena - THERE IS NONE.

I will add my pics when I get the time.

Posted

^If youll check the dates under our screen names youlls ee I joined a couple of days before you,a nd htats after a long itme of lurking aorund hte site without posting.

and the Superland is the only one to have that kind of ride

hmmm... I remember that up on the second floor of the mall at the most southern end- your right side if you're entering from the beach or marina- there was this kiddie area with some rides and posters everywhere around the mall pointing to that area with a picture of what looked like Zierer Tivoli trains and track. Also, I remember there being construction around that area.

that was a nice mall theme- wise, definately not by what stores were there. I stayed away from most of them so that my mom and sister wouldn't get sidetracked with the little clothes stores.

Posted

Yes I know what you are takling about. There is a video games zone right there.

The construction was for someting they call The Tornado which is an adventure for kids : You get inside something that looks like log flume ride and you travel through stations . In each station you have to complete a mission to collect points. This is pretty fun for kids and I did it with my nieces. But there is no coaster or lets say I am 100% sure there is no real coaster .
