coasterfan200692 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Here is my latest roller coaster. I was trying to make a roller coaster with plenty of custom supports and head chopping feelings. The problem is that in some places your head probably would get chopped off because there are a couple pole hits a one hit with the track. I know I spelled experiment but it will do. Tell me what you think. (I know its jerky at some places to and I already tried to fix it but it really didn't help) I would have added more pictures but they said all of them were too big. If anyone would want to mess with it to try and fix it up and post it up I'll be glad to see what you could do. Experimient.nltrack
thefitness Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 ^no one is going to want to comment if you beg. The coaster was allright, there were only a few headchoppers,I geuss I expected more,Keep working on the concept though. It could turn out pretty good.
IwantRevenge Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 The problem is that in some places your head probably would get chopped off because there are a couple pole hits a one hit with the track Then why post it? if it's not perfect you probably shouldn't post it dude. Take some more pride in your rides and spend as much time as possile working on the supports and making sure there are no clearence issues...also there were WAYYYYY to many supports! just overkill dude this needs a lot of work.
coasterfan200692 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Posted December 21, 2006 I was not telling you not to post your ride because it wasn't perfect. Also I meant to put that many supports, it goes with the theme of the ride and the theme of Shwartzkoph style coasters, go look at Zonga if you don't believe me, you would have realized that if you read the first post. Regardless of your opinion my coaster is simply more interesting and it makes you mad. Also if you want to talk about improving your rides go and add to your little launcher cause it's far from perfect as well. Anyway, we should probably stop being so immature so I'm sorry if I pissed you off, you really took it the wrong way because I was not trying to be mean like I said, but thats that.
IwantRevenge Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 ^ i'm not saying mine is perfect (there is no perfect) i'm jsut giving my honest opinion on the ride, and my hones topinion is. It needs work.
coasterfan200692 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Posted December 21, 2006 Well then were even, this whole thing could have been avoided if you understood and respected people opinion but what ever. Lets end this.
Calaway Park Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Oh my gosh, if you guys want to bicker, bring it somewhere else. There's no reason for it to be in the forum. If you need to do it that bad, PM eachother, or get eachothers IM addresses. Yes, I'm guilty of arguing on the forum, but I finally realised arguing on the internet has no point - it accomplishes nothing, so stop.
coasterfan200692 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Posted December 21, 2006 This is my thread so ill say what ever I want in it and I have made up with this guy already so stay out of my business!
jamesissoocool Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 the supports were amazing and the ride was cool just a few stuff to fix but other than that this was cool
Calaway Park Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 This is my thread so ill say what ever I want in it and I have made up with this guy already so stay out of my business! I'm not in your business! How was I supposed to know you "made up with this guy?" I'm not God. Yeah, and in a PM you told me what I said was useless SPAM? You apparently don't have the slightest clue what SPAM even is. You need to calm the hell down and learn how to take a little bit of critisism without going all mondo angry on everyone. Not EVERYONE's going to like your ride. Stop the arguing, you've lost, and a retaliation is quite useless at this point. I'm sorry your ego's bigger than your head and you can't understand that not everything is going to be: "I LUV UR RIDE ND I WANT 2 SWE MORE UF IT."
weeow Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 This ride was bumpy. Bad transitions in some places (a lot actually specifically the one leading into the loop) and spots where you would be killed. The drop out of the station just seemed weird and messed up. Needs improvement.

No your wrong, just shut up, you dont know what your talking about. I didnt say anything to anyone because they said my ride was bad. This was a disagreement between me and another person of his ride and it was idiots like you who wanted to add coments that have absolutly NO RELEVANCE to what is really going on. The problem has been solved so stop posting me.
Real Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Ride was pretty uneventful. For the type of ride, G's were way too mild. I was expecting to see some 4 and 5 G moments (and helicies) but got mostly 2's and 3's. Transitions were below average. Some were ok but if you made this in 1.6, you didnt even try to use the smoother thats built into the game. I used it on multiple areas and it made alot of the transitions slightly above average. Layout should have been half that size to be more effective and action packed. Take whats there, size it down, smooth it out, add some more g's and its a decent ride. Supports were great in areas, and horrible in others. The horrible were the 8-9 complete derailments of the train. If not from the first 7 supports going through the tracks rails, the 8th would have finished it off (hopefully it derails alot sooner for the peoples sake) This is completely sloppy and Im sure you spent alot of time on those truss systems - so make sure in the sim that you have allowed enough room for clearances for all parts of the train, not just the riders heads. Overall - below average but not crappy. Needs alot of work but there is some promise hiding in there.

This ride is nothing like a Schwarzkopf. The ride pulls slim to no large vertical G amounts, and that is a trait almost all Schwarzkopf have. The vertical loop isn't round enough, it pulls way too little vertical G. There were a load of bad banking transitions, most notibly the one before the loop. There were WAY too many supports, and they aren't how Schwarzkopf made them, trust me, I have one in my home park. This ride is alright, but it's nothing like they'd make. I don't like the colours, they don't fit in my opinion. Good try, bad idea.

You say you used the smoother, please download your version, I would love to see it, Not being sarcastic either.
Real Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Once Christmas is done, I will use the ingame smoother - some segment splitting (using the y button) and use no extra tools. That ride has potential to be alot smoother, you just gotta know some basic rules about bezier design. Bezier being the term used to describe the points, handles and the way the track is created. Theres limitations and more importantly, theres preferences that the smoother and the beziers like. So when you cater to those, it makes your job alot easier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Track has been uploaded - all this below was written after I uploaded ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This took me 5 minutes and isnt nearly what I would call fixed, but its better. And even if its not super better, its in a much better position to be fixed. Why? The first thing I did was look at the lengths of the segments. You had some very long, others very short. In theory, you want all of your segments similar in size. They can vary, but never do you want to jump from a long to a short in most cases. Sometimes you get do it, but just try not too. Also, you want your segments to end up being somewhere around 20ft long. If you start wtih 40ft segments, thats ok. Do what you can, then, split them up and adjust the banking if it doesnt do it for you the first time. Once I split the segments up (only first time through - 2-3 minutes) I used the smoother on the entire track. Highlight track you want smoothed - hold CTRL and press G. I then made sure we had Con-Roll turned on for every vertex. I then noticed you had some fairly small segments in a few turns. You want the rest of the track to match that. So, I split every segment up again to match those - the only segments I didnt change were the ones we were trying to match. Once done with that, used smoother again. Done. Now, the beginning track had alot of flaws that still exist. Banking issues. Support hits. Bad jerks. The smoother only does so much, but if you put the smoother in a better position to help you, you stand a better chance of a better product. Some things to help: Equal Length Segments Segments that turn (in any direction) no MORE than 30 degrees (That means for a 180 degree turn you need 6 segments or more) Con Roll ON Segments under 25ft long - preferably under 20 Follow those to start with, using the smoother built into the game and you will find your tracks coming out alot smoother ALOT quicker. If you then want, once you feel you want to venture into the AHG, let me know. I can write out some more simple rules and regulations to follow to get your feet off the ground at least. experimient_481-q.nltrack First Try - took 5 minutes
coasterfan200692 Posted January 22, 2007 Author Posted January 22, 2007 I didn't notice anything different.
