pgathriller Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Come up with some awesome names and designs for roller coasters. Maybe a company will take your unpattened idea and make millions from it! My idea would be a flying coaster like the Borg and call it F-14 Fighter. Theme it with F-14 Fighters and instead of a chain lift have a launch just like when a Jet takes off! 0-120 in 4 seconds and it would be the first launched flying coaster! Have 20 inversions like when the jets do spins and flips and whatever else they do! Vekoma can do the design and Intamin for the launch! Vekoma can finally become popular with this ride!
coaster1 Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 Vekoma is popular already with parks, cheap and proven designs .. and why in the hell would you want a launched Vekoma flyer like BORG .. unless you just don't like your brain or body ... plus Vekoma already has 2 hydrualic launched coasters under their belt .. the Booster Bike in the Netherlands and the one going into England this year or next. After a few inversions with amy manufacturer .. you'd be pretty loopy and possibly sick. Plus I'd hate to see the forces on a flying coaster that was launched to 120MPH in a short span.
Coasters 4 ever Posted May 4, 2005 Posted May 4, 2005 I can't think of a name but it would be by GCI, Intamin, and B&M. It would have a launch that goes 0-50 in 2 seconds(it would get to its max speed 75 mph during the first drop, which, by the way would be 150ft and wood), it would be part wood and part steel so the drops are wood and the inversions are steel(B&M and Intamin would alternate the inversions), it would be floorless, have 11 inversions(breaking the all-time record), and it would be very heavily themed. Something like this would probably cost A LOT but there would be 3 manufacturers so each could pay 1/3 of the whole price. It would also be in IOA where Triceritops Encounter used to be or they expand WDW and make another park like IOA with state-of-the-art thrill rides and this coaster in it.
Coasters 4 ever Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 ^Do you mean that as a name for my coaster? If you do, it is a good name but I don't think Universal would want another ride with the word 'dragon' in it. Also, if it was at Disney, they would probably call it "Mickey's FunFun Ride!". Just kidding. I would never insult Disney like that.
socalMAN123 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 My coaster would be a Power Surge on a track. The lift hill would be about 100 feet so no maximum G-forces would be pulled. I have no clue what I would call it, but if you could give me a ride name, that would be cool. ---Brent 8)
PhishyBrewer Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Banshee was always a favorite of mine. But we all know what became of that name... Mantis, how stupid?
FlyingScooter Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 CropDuster: a suspended swinging coaster that dives toward fields and and trails white smoke behind it. Dueling Dragsters: TTD type only set up as a racing coaster. WhipLashed: A Vekoma looper that goes 60 mph and has no bank turns and many series of 's' turns. could also be called: Pistol Whipped, Dazed and Confused, or Ear Bleeder:The Ride!
edboxer Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 The Vomit Comet - 150 lift hill into 6 zero g rolls 20 feet off the ground then a loop and two corkscrews, end with 5 camels and had break
coaster1 Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Banshee was always a favorite of mine. But we all know what became of that name... Mantis, how stupid? And Holiday World had their Rainbow named Banshee and no complaints .. funny.
Jordan Shankman Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 I've always thought Torque would be a great name for a launching coaster.
