From what I know, there's two types of airtime:

Floater Airtime is when you remain - or float - out of your seat for a sustained period of time

Ejector Airtime is either:

-When you are thrusted out of your seat as quickly as possible on a tight crest, and/or

-When you are out of your seat for a very quick period of time

I'm not completely sure which one of those is really ejector airtime, I've heard both (then again, it could be a combination of the two!) And now that I think of it, Ejector Airtime has one more definition:

-EL TORO

as was said above, floater airtime is when you are experiencing ~0 g's, meaning you feel weightless and your butt "floats" out of the seat. Think: B&M Hypers

Ejector airtime is when you actualy leave your seat forcefully and the restraint is keeping you in the train, otherwise you would be "ejected" out of your seat completely. Think: Intamin Hypers and Pre-Fab Woodies

  • 4 months later...

Airtime: Millennium Force has all definitions of airtime.

First Drop - Ejector

2nd Hill - light floater

3dr hill - extreme floater, then heavy airtime. It kicks you out o fyour seat and you float, then it slams you back down.

4th hill or speed hop - medium airtime

Dragster gave me this wierd feeling as we went over the top (first car, second row) there was a little pop of airtime, but it felt like my head was going to explode!!!

Painful airtime - Tornado at Strickers Grove: a change from straight track to a drop so fast....ouchhhh

I'm not sure that Vekoma knows about airtime. There doesn't look like any on Corckscrew at Alton Towers.

i tell you, do it so it's one-click before it can close any further, front row, i will rip it down if its not true, but there is deffinate ejector airtime there.

i've yet to do MF... i've yet to step foot in America maybe on the next TPR trip maybe?...

Painful airtime: (may not be a rollercoaster, but its hella painful, especially when you land) Detonator at TP... completely destroys all manhood if you land on the thing between the legs...

the issue with Dragster: restraints too tight? too much pressure on legs?
