bgwfreak
I am on vacation (or holiday as our brethern across the pond say) this week and today I headed down to the SC State Fair. Weather was perfect. A nice breeze and about 80 degrees for the high. The fair had 4 credits but only 3 for adults (they had two Dragon Wagons but one of them had the kiddie-only train). Anyway...here goes everything... Here are the full versions and a lot more pics I didn't post if you want to check them out: http://travel.webshots.com/album/554787862uxvEeU You know you're in the South when... Let's see $37 Million. Yeah that should about pay off my credit cards. I didn't know ACE was in town! (Well you knew it was coming eventually). Cotton? In Dorito's? No wonder I get the strange urge to find a field every time I eat them. What a boring life this would be. Zebra alert. Watch out! They spit! Well finally! This is a TPR approved PTR! Now for some of the animals. Big Bunny! Big Bunny! Inverter! This looked like it would hurt my shoulders so I skipped it. Sadly they had the kiddie trains on this dragon wagon. No credit. Credit #3 and my Wacky Worm credit #4. lol Skater from up in da sky. Like dude! It's like! A skater! This is the other version of the disk-o. After riding it, I prefer the disk-o a lot to the skater model. They had a good wave swinger that looked a lot like the one that used to be at Carowinds (now at PGA). I miss our swings. Can we have them back? I'll trade you Borg back for it! Silver Surfer was even there trying to spoil my fun. Woo hoo! After being too heavy to ride one of these, I finally got to ride one! Too bad it wasn't that exciting. It was all mad...and stuff. Credit #2 I'm not sure who makes these, but it was by far the most intense spinner I've been on. The layout was really different as well. They had a rockin tug. Didn't ride it. But I know these are very rare. So I thought I'd show you what one looks like. See! They were pretty good! I went to find the rest rooms and found these guys sculpting in sand! Credit #1! woot! I love when the guy doesn't even close all the restraints on the ride so when we went around a corner the one behind me hit me in the elbow! The NC Fair and SC Fair both share something in common. They both sit right beside big football stadiums. Resists making a joke about the Game Cocks (that's their real name). Thank you Mr. Signage. My Beetle was mad at me because I made it drive me to South Carolina. It even tried to attack me when I was getting out of the car! Sorry Carowinds. We won't be stopping at you today. Besides...you're closed today!
pkdcoaster
Cool PTR! Did you happen to get a better pic of the Mad mouse?, I do not think I have seen the layout on that one. Wasn't the SC State Fair the one that got the Schwarzkopf Lazer clone????? That sucks if the don't anymore! JEFF

ParkTrips
Yea, that's weird since their site said it was a Zamperla (or so I thought). So are adults not allowerd to ride the kiddie dragon wagon, or we just can't even fit? And yes Jeff, the fair used to get a doppel looping coaster... I think it was Conkin's. bgwfreak
^ Sorry dude. I didn't think anyone would want to go on a Thursday! ^^^ Actually I thought this mouse was pretty intense. But it punched me in the stomach towards the end and as a result I didn't ride it again. And on the way home... No Top Gun! I will not ride you today! Leave me alone! Euro Slide? Do you come off it speaking French and hating George Bush? Ooooooh. Creepy living statue. They even had one of Monica's dresses. Ok, maybe not. Surely you can't be serious! I am. And don't call me Shirley. They heard I was in town so Air Force One landed. You can see the Clinton dolls are flying off the shelves. This was kind of cool. This was the 1984 Presidential Limo. Well...well (Reagan joke). Now why would you need 4 (FOUR) Ferris wheels?
bgwfreak
There was a question about the size of the 2nd Dragon Wagon. As you can see in this pic the seats are very small and you would have to climb in as well. But most adults probably couldn't fit in this train. Kiddie credit only
Canobie Fan
Well I rode it in MA March (nice warm 35*s) so it might have run faster for you. I have photos and video of the ride stalling mid-ride and needing to be pushed.. (with riders still on it)
bgwfreak
^ Well that's your problem. This isn't Japan! This one was flying through the dips and such and didn't need any help making it through the course.
SpartanTS
I'm from Columbia, SC and haven't been to the State Fair since '02, when the Schwarzkopf "Doppel Looping" was there. It was a pretty smooth ride for its age. It even had a new paint job that year. Too bad if it's not there. It was a must ride every year at the fair EDIT: North American Midway Entertainment did the fair this year, hence no Schwarzkopf coaster. Conkin was doing the SC State fair for as long as i've been born.
bgwfreak
It's weird how they combined the other midway company's into one and now the result seems to have none of the Schwarzkopf coasters.
