Angry_Gumball Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Someone on my messenger list decided he'd send something known as MSNFunmaker. Making it sound like some MSN add on thing, I ran it and now I got some stupid spyware junk on my computer (AdAware won't move it) and he keeps telling me about some tool and says he don't know if it will mess up my computer. If anyone is familiar with this, PLEASE help!!! I got this annoying search bar on my browser and a stupid program running I can't close. Then give me some way to get back at him. Below is a screenie of what my browser looks like as well as that blue thing in my system tray. Again, any help (that actually knows what they're doing rather than guessing) will be appreciated. Spyware...my 'best' friend...
CoasterFanatic Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Did you try: Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Angry_Gumball Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 Tried that...no program at all on there...I'm now literally an angry gumball....I've now spammed their site due to random boredness and anger. Control panel wont remove it.
M_Force_4_ever Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 my best advise would be to DL spyware guard and spyware blaster, and hopefully those help. ~ZACH~
wamme Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 lol, don't know why you did did install that before you knew what it did but i have some sollutions With this program you can trick everyone in your MSN-list. MsnFunMaker allows you to do the following things to your MSN-buddies: - Watching all their incomming and outgoing MSNmessages. - Change their NickName into whatever you want. - Open a website in front of them, you can choose the url yourself ! - Let them logout. - You can force them to receive nomore MsnMessages from anyone. (you can enable this option and disable it again) - You can force them that they can't send any MsnMessages anymore.(you can enable this option and disable it again) - Let their computer restart. - Open the CDdrive. - MsnFunMaker also contains an option wich allows you to send MsnMessages to people in your 'victims' MSN-buddie-list. So they will think his/her friend is saying it. *It will stop after 1 month (they say themselves... ) so you don't go on msn 1 month No, You can turn your clock and Calender on your PC 2 months further, restart your pc then check if it stopped *try to reinstall msn, this may work or not (don't know myself) otherwise you have to format your pc :? *Get yourself a virusscanner because the prog contains at least 1 virus * There are solutions where you can go mess in your register to clean some registerkeys but if you delete wrong things your pc can be messed and I don't want it to be my fault (only try this when you are experienced). You can find something about it if you google => What about changing your avater now
Angry_Gumball Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 To be honest, someone sent it to me. I was thinking it was an add on pack like MSN Plus. Next thing I know, my cd tray randomly opened and my name changed. Thanks for the help though guys. I was talking to someone on the messenger a few minutes ago that had this problem and he told me how I can get rid of it using that removal tool. For future reference, do not trust your buddies. Edit: MSN won't work even after "removing" this. It keeps signing its self off as though it's having connection problems. I've got over 50 gigs of stuff which may be hard to back up if I had to reformat. I'll do it if I really have to...which is my last of last resorts.
wamme Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 euhm and turning your calendar 2 months further? btw for some who are having MSN-Plus, if you didn't read the agreement during the install and yust clicked "yes I agree" then you have yust installed spyware with it:) Right thing to do is=> first yes i Agree, after that, No i don't agree and then click next (it was something like that i don't remember it very good)
stew560 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Nevermind... Did you try manually deleting the MSN Messenger folder and reinstalling?
Angry_Gumball Posted April 21, 2005 Author Posted April 21, 2005 Everything works now and I didn't agree on the MSN Plus, so no sponsor program!
