goleafsgo Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Busch Gardens annouced today that they have purchased Paramount Canada's Wonderland. They are planning on converting it into a Busch Gardens park in Canada. Many Canadian citizens are happy now that they will have some good coasters to ride. Desconstruction of the park has already finished, and everything from PCW is no longer standing. Construction of the midway and a themed area with a coaster has already been completed aswell. The Coaster completes 5 inversions, including an Immelman, a Dive loop, and a zero-g roll. Here are some pictures: An Overview of the egypt section of the park, and the nearly completed midway. The B&M inverted coaster has yet to be named, but was inspired by Montu at BGA. Some nice theming around the Top Spin called Ramses Revenge. zomg signature shot!1!11!!!!1
goleafsgo Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 Construction has begun on the next coaster in the park. There has been no word on what type of ride it will be however. Busch Gardens hopes to have the new ride completed by 1st September: some strange supports.... Vertical construction has begun, and most of the supports have already been built.
ECZenith Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Nice job with the custom supports, there's some pretty interesting work done with them.
goleafsgo Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 The 1st track pieces started going up today, and everything was going very smoothly. The ride will open in 4 days, so there is still alot of work to do, including theming. (some comments/criticism would be nice) There is some interesting support work for the inversion... The 1st inversion(s) have been built. It is a completly new type of inversion.
Milkchan Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 ^ yeah it does. Will you have a Asia theme to the park?
goleafsgo Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 lol, it is inspired by Markerick and i will probably have an asia theme, although i havent really thought all that out yet, seeing as i just started the park.
viking86 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Those inversions are seriously undersupported....
goleafsgo Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 Those inversions are seriously undersupported.... i know they're a bit undersupported, but those normal supports that come with the steelworx pack look kinda crap, so im trying to make completly custom ones that look good.
goleafsgo Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 im trying to think of a name for the ride, but i cant come up with anything . any ideas?
morbid_riddler Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Great park! Here's a name idea: Curse (or Flight) of Anubis
goleafsgo Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 that would be a good name, but i am not planning on making the ride egyptian themed...
morbid_riddler Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 what are you going to retheme that area into?
goleafsgo Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 dunno, i might just make it an area with some intense flat rides and whatnot, and not really have a theme, because i really hate the themes that RCT3 has...
morbid_riddler Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Kinda hard to come up with a name if there's no theme to the area, unless you want some generic name like "falcon" or whatever. If it's not going to be themed, then I don't see a reason to not use curse of anubis
goleafsgo Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 i wouldnt mind a generic name, as long as it doesnt suck like falcon.
Beate's Freak Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 How about "Wings", no not Paul McCartney's band.
goleafsgo Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 okay, i have been kinda busy with stuff happening and whatnot, but i will try and get some stuff done today.
trustkill22 Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 How about "Wings", no not Paul McCartney's band. "Simply, Having A wonderful Christmas Time" I dont have any names to come up with for you Leaf Fan but I just had to quote Beate Freak.
goleafsgo Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 The newest coaster at Busch Gardens Toronto has finally been completed. The coaster will be a launched itamin reaching speeds of over 75mp/h, with 5 inversions. The ride will be called "Phantom", and will be the main attraction in the newest area of the park. another view of most of the coaster. the zero-g roll going over an airtime hill. ... the ride's signature inversion(s) overview of most of the ride and the station...
