Coaster Palooza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Monday (8/14) we decided to go to Kennywood. We had to umpire the 5:30 and 8pm games for the PONY World Series, but we figured we could get around 3-4 hours in at the park. Kennywood is awesome! Phantom’s Revenge is a great ride with a ton of airtime. We weren’t able to get on Jackrabbit because of our time, but we did ride the Exterminator, their drop tower, Thunderbolt, and Racer. I can’t wait to go there again. Here is the link to Idlewild, Lakemont Park, and DelGrosso’s http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28232 Dan we gotta go, we have a game to umpire. I'll give you the 50 cents! We finished up with some skee ball and Dan had to pick out his prize. I wish we had 5-6 hours instead of 3-4. Random shots on the way out. Yep, next year.... Next year... Both trains did race, but the blue side kicked @$$ every time Time for Racer. Steve and I got in the second row while Jim and Dan yelled from the middle. Pretty cool view though Even the crew had to wait for the single train operation. DOH!!! It was around a 20 minute wait. WEEEEEEE! Alright, Thunderbolt The trash cans had a bunch of wasps or yellow jacket in them, or they were a ghost bag! Good theming How early do we really get up? Time for the spining mouse....umm I mean the Exterminator. That didn't happen to us! This is the biggest splash though that I have ever seen on the boat ride. Here we go down the first drop! The arms up in the front are Dan and me! Come on guys hurry! Steve is thinking, I don't know if I want to ride Phantom, Jim has already tapped out and Dan is all in! We finally arrived after taking a nice long 25mph trip! Just can't get the camera away from him. We headed to Kennywood today, Jim has the camera at the moment!
haux Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Cool TR. I've only been to Kennywood once, but I loved it. What's with the "next year" references to Jack Rabbit?
Coaster Palooza Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 ^My wife wasn't with me on this trip and we are planning on going out there next year. Thanks for the cool TR comments. This one is going to take a while to put together. I have 600 photos and quite a few events!
CoasterFanatic Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Both trains did race, but the blue side kicked @$$ every time Don't you mean EVERY OTHER time?
Coaster Palooza Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 Hey Ted! What's weird is that whichever side the blue train was on, it won! It rotates each time, but it never lost while we watched it and rode it. It was great to see you out there. I hope you didn't get wet on your way back on Saturday. It totally pissed out there around 4pm.
CoasterFanatic Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 ^ This should answer your question www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28154
kennywood!007 Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Awesome pictures. Kennywood is such a great park. Didn't you get Patatoe Patch?!?
Dailey Enterprizes Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 There's always room for Kennywood, that's what I always say, lol
Coaster Palooza Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 ^Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to enjoy everything. It was a quick trip in and then we had to leave. I wish we had a couple more hours there. Next year Gyendolynne and I will stay longer.
mike541x Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Nice Photo Tr. I've never been to Kennywood but I am going next summer on our way to Illinois.
Coaster Palooza Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 Thanks guys. Here is a link to the main trip report. It is in the Random section.
