I'm going to Kennywood for the first time on Monday (21st).

Can anyone give me any tips about how to attack this park?

Also any riding tips (especially for Phantoms Revenge). I am really looking forward to this one. Would really like to know if there is an ejector seat or what. Is it floater or ejector air?

Does anyone know of any discounts (AAA, Pepsi cans, etc.)

Help me out please. I like to have a gameplan when visiting parks.

Thanks

Hey, its my homepark first of all . I would suggest you do the Phantom's Revenge first thing. The line can get long. But they usually run two trains, but not till later in the day. As far as discounts I know Giant Eagle around there used to sell them for $18, but I'm not sure if they do anymore. Kennywood is pretty cheap on food, so you'll be good with that. Get Patatoe Patch French Fries!!!!! ITs located by the Thunderbolt. These are the best fires you will ever have. Also ride the Exterminator early in the day. That line can get terrible. Other than that thats all I have to tip you on. Oh sorry I forgot. The Phantom is good ride in the back if you want great airtime, and the front is really good with the speed and views! IMO you feel like your going faster in the front. Have fun! If you have any other questions just post em!

^You'll be in heaven at KW then. The longest wait I have EVER in the 11 years I have been going was for the Phantom's Revenge was an hour. But then again that was when it had the old brakes and was running one train in the busy month of July.

Well I like the Blue Streak @ Cedar Point b/c I can get some sweet airtime.

And I also like the Beast @ PKI or KI b/c of the out of control feeling and sense of speed in some areas-not trimmed to death

Well, if you like airtime the Jack Rabbit you will love. My favorite way to ride that is in the back. The most airtime is provided there like most other coasters. The Racers are more classic and just fun. You will find the people very competitive and its sooo fun! The hand slapping on the Racers is extremely popular make sure you take place in that. The Thunderbolt is awesome! YOu get some air on that in some places. Because its classic it makes it even more fun to think that your rididng a coaster that has been around for many, many years. Tbolt is fun no matter where you ride. Racers you cant choose your seat, same with the Jack Rabbit.

Kangaroo is a nice classic with some fun airtime, and Aero 260 is cool if you've never ridden a Zamperla Hawk before.

Also, ride Phantom's Revenge in the back seat. Nuff said.

Anyone know if I a 6'3'' 210lb guy can ride the Lil' Phantom?

Im pretty sure that you dont need a kid to ride the lil phantom anymore...Im pretty sure your not too big to ride, but then again I might be wrong. As said before hit phantom first thing then hit swingshot which is right next to phantom if you like screamin swings.

Anyone else know if there is any discounts available?

On a tight budget here. A buck or two means alot

Any pepsi product can will get you $5 off one admission, $10 off for two. Im not sure if the offer has to be on the can though I dont think it does, but if you can find a marked one definately save and use that one.

Go to www.visitkennywood.com and tickets are just 18 bucks online. Print your tickets and go!

Ride Phantom first, then hit Pittfall (Intamin drop tower) then exterminator. Then work your way around the rest of the park. The park should not be busy, some kids are getting back to school already.

Ride the Jack Rabbit in the back seat, Racer in the front. Thunderbolt in the back (you must have a partner to ride this coaster).

Grab the patch fries! A definite must. Try them with cheese and gravy on the side. It sounds weird but way good!

Other then that, have fun! You won't have a problem getting on the Lil Phantom. Any one can ride it now. You don't need to rent a kid!

The visitkennywood site is quite a deal I recently learned about and it is legit. It puts in a coupon code and you're buying the tickets from kennywood.com.

I tend to try to get two Phantom rides in first then ride Exterminator and maybe Pitt Fall (just a variation of Katie's advice). But later on two train operation is the key for the Phantom. With one train you could have a 30 minute wait even if the line is in the station. With two trains the line can be out towards the entrance and it's a 30 minute wait. Get some Phantom rides early and then hope they put another train on after lunch.

Tips for woodies. Thunderbolt enforces two riders per seat but if you have an odd number don't let that prevent your group from lining up. Just see the height check person and they'll pair everyone up. A trick for the Racer is if you want to slap hands, split your party between the two trains. Enter the train and take the far seat. When the ride starts and negotiates the first curve, you'll both be on the inside of the trains so you can slap hands.

In general, don't skip the unique old flat rides. You'll be surprised how fun they are. Auto Race, Kangaroo, Whip and Turtle for sure.

^True.

Just keep in mind what me and Katie said. BUY THE PATATOE PATCH FRIES! You have to, anytime you go to Kennywood. I almost forgot one year, so the park was almost closing but I had to go and catch the patch frie workers before they closed up. I don't know why but they tasted kinda better. They were more fresh in the evening! As of flats. Swing Shot, Aero 360, Sky Coaster (Its and extra buy some one tell me if I'm wrong, but I believe its $15 for 3people, $20 for 2people, and $25 for 1person), Kangaroo, pretty much just ride all the flats. Kennywood has some great flat rides. Oh, I forgot, ride the Pitfall at night also and try to get the park side. The view is unbelievable! I wish the had a observation tower to take pics of the park at night . But anyways, have fun!
