Tijuana Park - has anyone been?

I will be in San Diego in Sept and sure to be heading to Tijuana, and I was wondering if anyone has been to this park:

 

Amusement Park: Mundo Divertido

They have three coasters so there is a bit of credit whoring on offer.

I've read a trip report on the park at it's old address in Tijuana and another at this new address. Both were terrifying. Good luck and be careful!

We ALMOST went there this past Solace trip, decided our safety was more important as the new park is a bit further into Tijuana .. and there's ALOT of crime, etc. down there to be wary of.

 

Some day tho .. some day.

I haven't been to this park, but I have been to TJ a few times. This park is quite a bit of a distance from the border so if you are planning on going you'll need to drive.

 

As for the danger of travelling around the city. Yes it is a high crime area, but at the same time it is very tourist oriented so you don't have to be as scared as some people make it seem.

DONT GO TO THE DONKEY SHOW trust me...

Last time I went there were two different parks with the exact same name within 5 min. of each other. The one farther down south was a lot better. However according RCDB, they've combined both parks into one at the southern location. It's basically like an oversized Boomers with horrible service. It is located right next to a shopping mall, and has a Pinfari looping star, a wild mouse, a chair swing ride, and other small flat rides. I might go there later on this summer, and if I do I'll post my first photo TR.

Ahh..Mundo Divertido! The countless birthday parties I've been there since I was 7.

 

I actually live about 10 minutes away from there. The first one used to be in a great location not that far from the border (great mini golf area), but it shut down and is now located in a mall about 20-30 minutes away from the border.

 

I may have a couple of pictures around here somewhere. I'll post them up if I find them.

Thanks for all the tips, I won't be going that far over the border if I go. A few credits isn't worth getting my wallet and passport stolen. At least I'll get Belmont Park and Sea World credits.

 

Gotta love Tijuana, it seems to be the fake capital of the world. Last time I was there they had the real Hard Rock Cafe and a shop selling fake Hard Rock shirts next door. I was warned even the women are fake at the strip shows - men in drag.

 

Yes, I've heard about the donkey's also, even though this board is Donkey themed a Photo TR would be a bit much, I reckon I would throw if I had to watch that.
