Either this or next Thursday, I'm planning on day tripping La Ronde in Montreal (it's about a 5 hour drive each way for me) and I was just wondering what a good gameplan for the park would be, and if I could get a good experience from the place in about 7-8 hours at the park.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I'll probably be there next week! Iv'e gone the past 3 years during my Lake George vacation. La Ronde gets crowded as hell, out of no where! But there is fast pass system (I don't remember what they called it.). Also, rides break down like crazy. For instance. I got stuck on Super Magene at the top of the lift hill, twice in one day. Last year, Le Vamire, Booerang, Super Manege, and Le MOnstre were all stopped on the lift at the same time ! So use the flash pass system.

It really does get crowded? I wasn't sure if it would or not. Maybe I better second guess my plans on a day trip. Either that, or suck it up and get the flash pass.

La Ronde gets really crowded on weekends, not thursdays. Also you do not need the flash pass if you wanna ride all the coasters and thrill rides. Here's my plan.

Get to the park 30 minutes before opening if you dont have a season pass and wait in line. Once the park opens, get in and take a left and run towards Cobra. Ride it. Get off and go to Vampire which is pretty much next to it. I find that all the seats are the same, so dont bother waiting for the front. After Vampire run to the other side of the park and ride the monster Track 1, back row. It should have a 15-20 minute wait by now. After Monster ride the Super Manege/Manitou/Boomerang. Those 3 rides take the most time to load. After all this head to the Goliath. It always has 2 trains running and no matter the lineup you wont wait more then half an hour. Definately and I mean definately sit in the last row. Major difference over any other rows.

Thanks a lot. That all sounds good.

What's a good place to get a bite to eat? Please keep in mind I'm a vegetarian. I'm going to be doing a lot of driving, so I need some good grub.

Jay - There were a couple of little Italian food stands in the park (I think the name was Giorgio's and I have no clue if they are still there) but they had a a garlic cheese bread that was very good. And get a Beaver Tail with a topping, the best fried dough treat at any amusement park. They put funnel cakes to shame.

I wrote a pretty comprehensive TR on another site, that we both frequent, if you want to dig it up.
