  1. You've got some good stuff going, but this really isn't screaming Cedar Fair to me at all. If anything, it looks more like Six Flags.
  2. I still think a spinner is likely. But an S&S family coaster along the lines of Powder Keg would be a delicious addition.
  3. I wonder how much whining there will be if it isn't 240'... You're setting yourself up for a big disappointment if you are expecting the perfect ride. Incidentally, does anyone know what time the information will be made public? As in on the Internet?
  4. On another level... why theme your kids section to something that kids *today* can relate to when kids will be visiting it for years and years to come. Spongebob is not going to last forever. Nickelodeon will be dated eventually. So it's pointless to argue that kids won't like it since they don't know Snoopy because in 20 years, they won't know the Fairly Odd Parents either.
  5. How about a a splash battle that isn't a complete freaking waste of space?
  6. Somebody said a while back that kids don't know Snoopy because he's older than Sailor Moon... Most people didn't even know about Sailor Moon when it was a big deal. Peanuts is still in the paper and they still show the specials on TV. And kids do watch them in school, too. I remember watching the one about leukemia in elementary school. And incidentally, I went to Worlds of Fun with a five-year-old recently who begged to have her picture taken with Snoopy and Lucy. They may not be as ever-present as Nick, but it's not like kids have absolutely no idea who Snoopy is.
  7. Thank God. I'd take Snoopy over Spongebob any day. I was worried they were going to go the other way and make all the Camp Snoopys Nick-themed. But I suppose that would be to much like MoA.
  8. If you have to be parallel to the ground to have an inversion (which is what I think, too), then Enterprises don't go upside-down. Just saying.
  9. I know, that was my thinking as well. But I don't know. It could be that they didn't want to reveal that Carowinds is getting a B&M. But like I said, it's not likely, lol.
  10. CP said that someone on the Facebook page was "exactly right." The only two things I saw that were at all plausible were the idea about announcement times (which is probably right) and somebody pointing out that KD has one B&M, Carowinds has 2 (not counting the new one) and CP would have three if they got a B&M next year. But it's probably about the announcements.
  11. Bizarro... Then again, this is not Six Flags we're dealing with.
  12. I chose SFGAm, SFMM, and SFOT in that order. 1.) SFGAm - I haven't been there since Dark Night or the removal of Deja Vu, but I still have great memories from this place. Raging Bull and Viper are both outstanding. They have the first B:TR and one of the first flying coasters. And on top of that, it's beautiful, clean, and has the best operations I've ever seen at an SF park. 2.) (tie) SFMM - Absolutely freaking gorgeous and lots of coasters. But I was a little let down when I finally got there for the first time (Feb. of this year) and found that none of the coasters were top ten-worthy for me. 3.) (tie) SFOT - Funny story, I've been there twice and I still haven't ridden everything. Titan and Freeze are wonderful, though, and the park looks very nice. SFKK is easily the worst.
  13. Great TR! Good to see the deep Midwest getting some love. For a long time, I thought you were talking about the show the Spongebob ride replaced, and I kept thinking, "How on Earth does he have an opinion about Mystery Mine Ride if this is his first time at MOA?"And then I figured it out, lol. But I loved MMR. It was hard to see that go. To answer your other question, yes, FOC was the first spinner. So you are probably doing Valleyfair and Adventureland, but are you also doing Como Town and Arnold's Park? Fun stuff. While you're in Iowa, you should try to visit Luther College in Decorah. But that's probably way out of your way.
  14. I'm not talking about here. This poll is obviously not accurate at all. I know people who swear by it and have it in their top fives and tens. It's a great ride, and I don't have a problem with that. Just wondering why those people like it so much.
  15. Can anyone tell me what the big deal is about Great Bear? I'm not trying to start a fight, I just didn't really see anything so amazing about it when I rode it and a lot of people really love it. So maybe I missed something? *puzzled*
  16. WOW, endlessly fantastic. My only suggestion would be to add some Spanish and Portuguese names! That's a big part of the culture.
  17. It's through the door in the room with the old opera posters on the second floor.
  18. Best way to get to the caves. You also should have gone up to the roof. They just opened it like a month ago and I hear it's incredible. But there's so much to do, you can't do it all in one visit.
  19. I should clarify, sorry. By "negative," I don't mean that you didn't like the ride, I mean that it's *more* negative than essentially every other review there is. In response to your second paragraph - Worlds of Fun is my home park (as far as I'm concerned - I have disowned Adventureland for reasons I'm not getting into here), but it is by no means my favorite. It doesn't even make the top five. There's a lot there I really like, but I would change a lot. Secondly, as of this writing, I have ridden 193 coasters, which is a terrible place to be at the end of a season. And finally, I'm sorry, but everyone's opinion is legitimate. And let me also clarify that my uneasiness is not toward Erik, but toward the response this review has received. I'm sure he is a wonderful guy and I would probably really enjoy coastering with your group. What bothers me is that because you guys are more "important" members of the site (to use that term very loosely), your opinions about rides are considered somehow more credible than others. That's not your fault, it's just something that's sort of happened, and I know you know that isn't true. All I want to do is make it clear that (from what both of you have said), it *really* sounds like you got it on a slow day, and I don't want the generally accepted opinion of such a fantastic ride to be dampened on this site because you guys got it on a slow day. Please don't read that as my accusing you of anything. You guys haven't done anything wrong, and there is obviously a chance that you just didn't like it as much. However (for the millionth time, it feels like), considering my experience with the ride and the experiences of everyone else I've ever talked to about it, that's not the Prowler I know. Thanks for not screaming at me. EDIT: Robb got in my way, lol, sorry, this was a response to the post above his.
  20. I encourage you to ride Prowler at its peak. It's because Erik is generally an unbiased reviewer that I think he probably got the ride on an off day. The fact is, this site is based in SoCal, and it has a ton of members from SoCal. There aren't many people here who know Worlds of Fun or Prowler very well. I do. I've been on Prowler probably 75 or 80 times since it opened, and the only times it's been close to what Erik described have been off rides. I have some credibility here. I know Prowler pretty darn well. It simply is not a slow ride. I have not met one person who didn't absolutely love it. Additionally, I understand that the review wasn't a negative one. What it was was more negative than every other review that currently exists. One last time. This is my personal experience talking. Prowler is bullet fast and totally relentless. You do not have any chance to catch your breath until the break run. Very rarely does a ride come a long that is as FUN to ride as Prowler. Of all the GCIs I've ridden (Prowler, Kentucky Rumbler, Evel Knievel, Lightning Racer, Wildcat, and Renegade), Prowler is easily the best. Not because it's at my home park, not because I'm biased toward it. Because it is the most fun GCI I've ridden. And I've had slow rides on it, and it does feel a lot like what Erik described on those days. And one more time: The only reason I'm going through all this is that I don't want a false impression of this ride on such a good website. The fact is, most TPR members are more likely to listen and believe reviews from admins and close friends (*not that that is necessarily a bad thing - it makes a lot of sense given how the site needs to be run*), and this review puts the ride in a light that is not accurate according to my own experience and the experiences of countless others both on this website and off. Does anybody understand what I'm saying or do I need to spell it out even more clearly?[/i]
  21. Wow, I haven't been following this very closely, but this looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Now if they could just do something about the humidity...
  22. I know, if they add a B&M flyer, 4/6 coasters (including the kiddie) will be B&M. Now I love B&M as much as the next guy, but I think that's a little overboard. I would take BBW over a flyer any day, honestly. But that's me. I know a lot of people really love them. Tatsu was great, but I just don't see what the fuss is about.
