Carowinds Discussion Thread

Head Spin is still standing in Ohio so it is not Head Spin. Alot of things look like supports for a roller coaster, and unless we are getting a 500 foot coaster, supports wouldn't be coming this early. There isn't even footers in the ground yet. Footers generally come before supports. -

Jay, where do you normally sit? I normally sit towards the middle, but I think the backseat is worth the airtime. -

Indeed, I watched them retrack it. Hurler was smoother in 2006 than it ever was before. I can't say about 2007 and 2008 because I haven't been to Carowinds since 2006. -

Actually, Hurler gets retracked twice a season. I don't think it has anything to do with how much money they put into the ride, I think the ride's design is the main factor in it's roughness. -

Wave Swinger(Whirlin' Dervish) was removed after the 2000, and sent to CGA where it reopened in 2001. I don't believe there is any truth to the Saturator rumors, I believe that someone got confused when they were the ride would closed early in 2007. -
Is Magic Mountain open, or have they decided to closed the park because of the fires?

Wow, it has been such a long time since I have been on TPR. Anyways, me and the Zone has a big surprise for everyone coming October 1st, 2007!

Ok, I can't find the photos of the WWF area, but I assure you, there are yellow and orange flags under WWF. I saw them with my own two eyes. -

Where did you get the riverboat scenery object from? I need one like that for a park I am doing. -

I really like the light house, it is pretty and a good example of quality scenery. The Edge is an interesting name for what type of ride it is. -

Sorry about Drop Zone being down this morning, it was having issues, but it open at 11. Hurler doesn't open until 11 everyday except Saturday. I spent most of my day at Drop Zone. -

I agree with Jarvis, I can handle my wood. Hurler is running fast with lots of airtime. So it is having a little bumpyness in the first banked turn. I would take airtime over smooth ride anyday. -

I am the guy at Drop Zone that says "We will see you in 40 seconds", "You know what goes up, comes down....3 times as fast.", or "Clear, going up 160 feet". I also work up at Hurler normally at drive. At Hurler just look for the guy checking lapbars backwards on the exit side, that would me. No, I am not showing off when I do it, it is easier for me to do it that way, and the Team Leaders approved of it. Hmm, I must have been at Hurler when Drop Zone got stuck because I didn't see it. -

I added the third lift hill to give a good pop of airtime over the last hill without making it tiny, but I am considering removing the hill, and added another tunnel. Overview of the park so far. -

Yes, I am adding tunnels and trees. The blue building is a theater, but I have thought of changing it into a dark ride. There will be a looping coaster, and a kiddy coaster added. -
