  1. ^ The rumors have been replacing the flume ride, literally replacing it with a new flume ride. That's what I've heard, but who knows?
  2. ^^ Welcome to TPR! And welcome to the lo.cker filter... Ah, that was a good thread! In all seriousness, though. I'm thrilled to start the day with my first Superman Ultimate Flight credit, although after Tatsu I'm not expecting to be blown away by it.
  3. Flash passes are very reasonable anyway. If you and your friends go in on them, it'll probably come out to around $20/person or a little more. Check the website. Zach, Julia and I may do this, as Julia and Zach have never been to SFGAm and thus would like all the credits. We'll play the crowds by ear...
  4. Zach, we'll be close enough to the hotel that if you want to run back and grab your backpack, or bring it back, you'll be able to with just a hand stamp...
  5. ^ Apparently you missed my wink...
  6. ^ Those rides lack speed. hmmm, apparently I can say that.
  7. ^^ Flash passes are irrelevant when you have ERT!!! Remember, this is a rare opportunity to get at a park like this. Living 5 minutes away from Kings Island for 20 years I can count on my hands the number of opportunities I've had to get ERT at the park. Flash passes or no, they will NOT be disappointed with the event I can promise you. Just knowing many of the people who are going it will be worth it. So get them to sign up soon!
  8. ^ You don't consider punctured lungs, kidney and spleen problems and unresponsive in the hospital seriously hurt? Sounds pretty serious to me.
  9. So after careful consideration, we're actually staying at the Hampton Inn 1/10 mile from SFGAm Thursday and Friday night. They got a good AAA rate around $100/night if anyone's interested, and I read reviews that it's so close you won't need to pay for parking, as you can walk.
  10. So it turns out this is a little far maybe to go all the way there and back in one day for us. Is there any local TPRer (not more than a half hour or hour from SFGAm) who could host my wife and I as well as Zach (PkiJIZZman) either thursday or friday night. Either one works. That or can anyone recommend a really cheap (but not roach-infested) place to crash either Thursday or Friday night? Thanks! I wouldn't ask except all the TPR members I've met have been the nicest people, so I thought we'd give it a shot!
  11. Businesses are about profit. If it wasn't turning a profit, there is a lot more pressure to stop the money pit... It obviously wasn't doing well when Six Flags bought it or they wouldn't have sold it, either. It just wasn't a viable property after Six Flags put all those huge rides in to try and compete with Cedar Point. On an unrelated note, I worked at the Beast in 2003 and I remember on slow days we'd be allowed to sometimes just walk around the Beast woods watching the trains go by. It was a summer I'll never forget working there...
  12. Glad to have you back, Big Mike! Are you going to either the TPR Day at SFGAm or East Coast Bash?
  13. ^From my understanding it was never designed for the ride vehicle to be removed, which CF did, as per their offseason ritual. Without the ride vehicle stabilizing the towers, one fell over. Am I wrong? I seem to remember a report saying that somewhere...
  14. ^ Just got off the phone with Jizzman. He's catching a ride with Julia and I up to the event! ROADTRIP!!
  15. The (brand new) wife and I are all registered! Will send my check in this week! -James and Julia Dillaman
  16. If it doesn't have lapbars, it probably isn't worth riding....
  17. Nice! Do you have any photos from Boblo Island itself?
  18. Yes I need to find out soon if this is at all a possibility, as we're beginning to hash out our fall plans now. You can add a person or two to the interested count, as well, as they would be going, but don't have TPR accounts to vote... -James Dillaman
  19. Because parks have NEVER done a soft opening of a ride not open to the public yet for a large enthusiast event. Not saying it will happen, but it is within the realm of possibility. I'm just glad it's finally opening so when I get back from Jamaica maybe I can plan a trip out there...
  20. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Koch family on the passing of a wonderful man. Out of everyone I've met in my life, Will had one of the biggest and most caring sincere hearts of anybody. He only wanted to spread joy to all the families that came into Holiday World, and this truly is a sad day. I can't even imagine a fitting tribute to such a great guy, but I hope his memory and commitment to Holiday World will live on in others. Will would have wanted it that way.
  21. ^ Except the loaded ribbon fries on the boat... OMG those are good.
  22. Robb, I just spoke with Zach (Jizzman) on the phone. He's on vacation without internet right now, but he's interested, too. I can't vote for him, but thought I'd let you know.
  23. ^ Resort Guests get in for ERT free. Nobody stays at KI's inn, and I don't even think you get the Early Entry with staying at Kings Island Inn anyway. CP is much more of a place you go and stay at the resorts...
