  1. KI and CP both have a scrambler, and they both have a huss giant frisbee, carousel, troika, wave swinger, and now a windseeker. Sorry, I just don't see the problem with two parks this close together getting the same flat ride... It isn't like a coaster where layout is an issue. The ride is pretty much the same thing no matter what, as it is a giant flat ride. I'm really glad both parks got one! Now Kings Island needs a ferris wheel again...
  2. ^ Didn't someone die on a skycoaster, though... (really wants you to throw your computer through a window...)
  3. ^ I did the swings on top of the Stratosphere tower in Vegas and it was extremely difficult for me to take my hands off the restraints, although those chairs face inwards to the circle, so when it starts to spin, you're looking down at the ground, well over 700 feet below you... I don't think height really matters beyond say 300 feet or so. It just is high...
  4. ^ I like how the reporter specifically calls out the defunct backwards American Eagle as his 2nd favorite coaster at the park. Too bad management said it would never return...
  5. If a park allows you to take pictures on rides, TPR has no problem with you posting them... Thanks for the TR! This is one park I really need to get to soon!
  6. ^ Viper at SFMM is actually much closer to Shockwave than Vortex, IMO.
  7. ^Yes, Viper was one of the highlights of my trip. Raging Bull had just opened as well, and was awesome as it didn't have the infamous trim on it yet. Ah well, I'm sure it's still a good ride, just maybe not as kickass as I remember.
  8. Can't wait the day and a half!!! Super excited to go back to a park I've not been too since jr. high school... Yeah, I rode Shockwave last time was there...
  9. Aw man, the roof was closed when I was at the City Museum. It looks flat out INSANE up there. Must.... go... back...
  10. And remember, this isn't Cedar Point or Knotts, this is Six Flags... the park will still be open at least no matter if it rains or not!
  11. ^ If you're creepy I'd definitely choose the cheerleading day... In all seriousness, last year we ended up visiting on the cheerleading day, and the crowds weren't that bad except around the lake area where the stage is. I think the 9th is a better bet than the 10th.
  12. Seriously, why do people always assume the worst. I'm sure we'll have a great day. Thanks Robb and Elissa for putting this all together, I know you worked hard to get all these perks for everyone!!
  13. ^^^ Yep, the park is being foreclosed... http://wcco.com/wireapnewswi/Wis.park.where.2.1835939.html
  14. I was just amazed at how smooth it was, as the layout just looks painful, but it's super fun. The outward-banking corner is my favorite WTF moment on it!
  15. ^ I haven't been to Europe, but Steel Hawg was surprisingly fun! It's one of my favorite small steel coasters, so I can understand where everyone's coming from.
  16. ^ No one said that because this thread is from 2008... It's been lost in the bowels of TPR until coastercrutchfield went on his posting spree for all the "Best of" threads he could find. That said, I like the first drop of Cornball Express, and the drop in the woods on Raven...
  17. ^^Yeah, Ohio really has a powerful punch for us zoo enthusiasts between Columbus (one of the best in the nation by any measure) and here in Cincinnati (still number 7 according to USA today!) only 90 minutes apart!! Seriously if you're in Cincinnati or DEFINITELY if you're in Columbus, take a day and check out the zoos! You won't be disappointed. Back on topic, I want to remind you that if you DO get sanctioned for a World Record attempt, there better be a darn good photo TR...
  18. The whole reason I started posting here is that it isn't filled with a bunch of crazies, and whenever one slips in, the mods sarcastically put them in their places very quickly. This is the only forum I read anymore, and I enjoy all the trip updates, although am broke broke, so none for me yet. The wife and I have a deal, though, that we can go when we pay off x-amount of school debt! (I won't tell you how much!!) so to all the complainers and the "credit park" people who forget to find amusement in the parks: please stop so Robb and Elissa keep doing these trips until I'm able to go!! The whole reason I decided on staying in a hotel by the park for TPR day at SFGAm is Elissa said there might be a meet up for a late dinner after ERT. I was looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new ones than the actual ERT itself (although it IS really awesome and you damn well better believe you'll see me on the rides!)
  19. ^ If that doesn't work, move on to twisting other things...
  20. Google Reader is the best use for them I've found... Besides that, I don't really use them. As for this site, I already get email updates which is basically the same thing.
  21. If this caption is correct this is the train they'll be using! "The train they'll be running on the Blue Streak" - Pittsburgh Post Gazette
  22. Europa Park is actually the only theme park on my Bucket List, so to speak. I love coasters and parks, don't get me wrong, but I'm not as into them as many people on here, although there isn't anything wrong with that. I just have other interests that are fighting for dominance in my obsessions. That said, Europa Park is still something I'd like to hit before I cash in the mortal coil...
