Erm........ i'm not totally sure how I feel. In my honest opinion I think Alton have made more bad decisions in the past few years in relation to their additions and removals than good ones. Thorpe park have made much more strategic additions which have proved more sensible over the past few years. I really never understood why AT removed the Black Hole, Ok, if the ride tent and space was to be replacewd with a brand new attraction directly in the next season then that would make sense. But to leave the tent empty in a rapidly delapidating area of the park that really only offers one thrill (oblivion) is just daft. Then there is the rumour of removing Corky which has been on the chinese whisper scene for at least 5 years. They have just spend millions on RITA and themed it highly to fit in with the ug Land theme. To pull corky out and re-theme the area would not appear cost effective. I have been racking my brains for a while of what they would put in Corkys place...............................erm.................height restriction.........................tiny floor space...............................cavemen themed................................CRAPPY SHORT FLAT. I know AT have been toying with the idea for a woodie for years and to be honest thats what they need however even a Wardley themed woody would look naff next to an Intamin Accelerator. I think that AT need to pull their finger out and put the idea of removing Corky to the back of the "things to do" list and invest on another Major Attraction. Its been 3 years since Rita and what have we had since? Battle "wanky" Galleons. (In replacement of the Swans...WTF) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which is not even worth the cheap chocolate smell in the queue line! And the Baby coaster?????? Am i the only person in the world who thinks this idea is completly pants? Another fine decision by the AT team on how to waste money which could be invested elsewhere to bring the parks ride count up to the thrill level currently held by Thorpe. Im not saying that Thorpe is better than Alton as they are both completely different. I understand that Thorpe is mainly a thrill park and Alton more for families however if they remove Corky and dont replace it with something thrilling im afraid Thorpe will take the crown as the nations most thrilling park. With Stealth and the new Eurofighter coming next year along with the thrills such as rush, slammer, samurai and Tidal Wave i personally feel that for a young thrill seeker, it offers more than Alton at this time. Jeez, slightly off topic me thinks, If i had my way i would keep corky for another year, throw the baby coaster idea in the shredder and get another space themed ride in the black hole or get a Mondial Topscan (im a closet fanboy) and heavily theme it with strobes and lights etc in the Tent. I would then possibly toy with the idea of getting rid of corky, and replacing it with a shoot the chute style ride themed to cavemen. Or................maybe an Intamin Aquatrax somewhere in the park. One can dream!

I have seen a pic of an intamin Drop tower with a small magnetic brake just after the drop at the top of the tower to slow the gondola down and then drops again at full speed? Does anyone know where this bad boy is? Also if there is only one? Help would be lush, cheers boyos! Scott

Recently visited DLP and rode Space Mountain for the first time. I have ridden the Floridian original numerous times and was completely amazed in the difference between them both. DLP's version was incredible, loved what they have done with it. Does anyone know why this is the only Space Mountain in the world to feature inversions? Surely with all the competition from neighbouring parks nowadays it would be a great addition to Magic Kingdom to upgrade their versions to the standard of SM mission 2. I personally think that MK parks dont offer enough thrills for the thrillseeker, the kind of thrills that Busch Gardens / Thorpe Park would offer, and maybe upgrading their version of SM would make a day in the park slightly more exciting for the hardcore enthusiast! Your opinions on SM mission 2 guys, why is it just a one off?

Jesus, this is a sweet looking ride from Zierer! Didnt think they had the capability to produce something as advanced as that. I thought it looked like a Gerstlauer and got a little excited!!! Oh well anyone have an idea what the cars look like?

Well this is where it gets complicated. On Adrenaline weeks they only have a select few rides open. This year however they were all open so even tho Rita's queue was HUGE we got 2 goes on it, Air's queue was kinda big too but we got to ride about 30 rides that day so even though they technically didnt keep their promise, they did a good job! Rita was launching every 3-4 mins with only one train so it was a huge queue, Air only had one station open, but Nemmie ran with two trains, Obliviong had about 6 on so there wasnt a queue at all for that. Def worth going in adrenaline week next year. Plus it was only £20! What day were you there? I was there Friday and they were definitely having problems in the left-hand station of Air, though I couldn't see enough to guess what was going on. The wait was listed as 45 minutes at one point but had dropped to "20" (actually ended up being 15) half an hour later. Biggest line of the day was Spinball on Friday, was actually almost a little annoyed about that, but everything else was running great capacity, efficient as ever, etc etc. Nice Photo TR, thanks for posting! Yer Alton gets extrmeely busy in the summer holidays. I always try to go on a school day. Its always really quiet then. On school day nemmie queue max 20 mins, on halk term or school hols i have waited 3 hours for it in the past. Thanks for the nice welcome guys! Caant wait to do another TR.

Alton towers opening week, this year they were offering a Triple ride promise which basically means every member will get to ride, rita, oblivion air and nemesis 3 times each in the day, if not they will get their money back!!! In other words sounds like its gonna be dead! I prefer it so much when its dead lol me sad and exhausted on way back to car park!! Looking forward to Drayton Manor on 14th April for my birthday! I wasnt impressed with Rita when she first opened however, she has grown on me so much. One problem the queue was huge for her as they were running one train!!!!!!!!! ARGH! (one HUGE pet hate for me) So i sat in here and pretended it was real!!! Rita's launch track! Ug Land!!! I however died in a different way!!! The skyline wasnt open so the only way to get from Forbidden Valley to Ug Land was down the valley! 40 painful minutes later, nathan is dying, so he smokes!!! Front row took us about 5 mins to wait. Air gate one is the equivilant to Virgin Atlantic First Class. The only way to fly! Sexy lighting!! Love the atmosphere in this station! And the voiceover "Prepare for air, Assume the position, now fly" So Pretty! Thats where im gonna be spending my hard earned cash later! I love ripsaw! And the water pumps were on this tim etoo, dont let the clear sky decieve you it was probably about -10 degrees!!! Counldt decide wether we were in AT or Narnia half the time! New Restraints!!! Its about bloody time! We queued for the front which was 3 groups of 4 in front of us as Nemmie had 2 trains running. As you can see the station queue is dead! Love standing on the bridge when she roars past!! again... Some nemmie shots for the fans! Time for Nathan to experience this old tart of a ride..... Nemmie! This thing always looks really scary from the queue line, very intimidatring for first riders. I have a personal love for Nemmie as she took my virginity when I was 13! She is ugly tho s Forvidden Valley main plaza, notice the hundreds of thousands of people there!!! Thank the lord the Haunted Hollow was shut as it wasnt finished! Im not a lover of dead things and ugly people! lol Duel was next!!! This loser was giving me evils so i chinned the ugly bas**rd!! As you can see there were more staff around than the public!!
