  1. Woo Hoo Fame at last, Thanks Robb. Am working on the video and will get it up asap. Thanks
  2. These were all taken from video so I will try and get a video together in the next few days. Stay Tuned.
  3. Just because everyone seems to have liked it so much, here are some photos I did not use in the main report. enjoy. Thats All Folks! I was told I would have to pay extra for the Go Karts. these are the only ones I could find. I therefore assume you could just drive them round the park! These were a group of school kids having a running race on the go kart track
  4. I think it would rank up there with my favorite ever theme parks. Just for novelty value. The fact that I was genuinely scared when a stall holder came up to me and tried to persude me to play a shooting game means it beats Dubai parks hands down.
  5. I did not complain as I think I got away lightly with only paying 30 pounds and not getting my camera knicked. I did not ride anything and was quite pleased. The guy at the ticket desk thought it was hillarious that I would pay 30 pounds and go in on my own. I was pleased to go alone as our party had an 8 year old child whom I am sure would have wante o ride something.
  6. ^^ Yeah I have to say that was one credit I dont mind missing. They basically had 2 ride ops who folowed people around and operated the rides. It ws all quite scary.
  7. ^ShoubraStreet74 I havent been to the other parks in gypt. We are planning on going to see the Pyramids at some point and I would like to include the parks. I understand the parks near Cairo are quite nice. This guy has some photos http://www.geocities.com/capecanaveral/lab/7432/Egypt.html
  8. Now onto the not very nice section of the park. NOTE: Additional photos on PAGE FOUR. ..the little kids that wanted to know how much my camera was worth.. One final shot of the enterance plaza. AND.... Closed of course They had a couple of big flat rides. This area was themed on a derelict shack theme. The lake had seen better days. moving onto the island. Several rides were set around a lagoon.
  9. OK, I have just got back from a trip to Alexandria in Egypt. Apart from arriving the day that the riots started and the place being dirty as hell we had a nice few days away. I had heard that there was a kiddie credit at a place called Fantazy Land but could not find anyone who had been there. Anyway We finally found the park and it was the worst run park I have ever been to. On the net I had found that the entry fee was 7 Egyptian Pounds, around $1.50. However when I got there they said it was 13 Pounds. I went back to the car as or whole group was going to go in, but when we got back to the pay window it was now 30 Pounds each, Anyway, I decided to go in on my own to get some photos. One thing to note was that when I paid my 30 Pounds I was actually given 3 tickets with 10 Pounds written on them, something tells me I was ripped off. lol Anyway onto the photos. NOTE! If you are viewing this because you were linked from another site, could you please respond and let us know where you came from! We'd like to make sure we give a link back to all of those who linked to us! If you have already viewed the photos on the main page, and want to see more click: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=170496#170496 Part two will feature the lagoon area of the park. The Dodgems had seen better days. This was a strange concrete box in the middle of the park. Park Overview It was closed. Woo Hoo, a credit. this was the main cafe these are the nicest photos I have of the park, will start on the bad ones soon. Construction?? Was Working The flying House.... As was the suspended monorail. The Go Kart Track was closed. Not the best Main Street I have seen. This is just inside the entrance Plaza. I was told no rides were closed today, that was a lie! The entrance was quite nicely themed. From the state of the sign I got a rough idea of what to expect.
  10. drove past the sales centre last night, the one with the fake coaster on the roof, and they have nearly finished a full size Space shuttle model! should be able to getup there on saturday and get some pics.
  11. First Up I visited an exhibition about restless planet, the dinosaur park yesterday and gleaned some info regarding rides. Mack have bean commissioned to produce the main dark rides systems for the Dinosaur dome and Huss have been awarded for providing one of the main rides there. Kokoro are making the Dinosaurs themselves. Jack Rouse are the project managers and ECA2 Are producing the shows. Other Dubailand news. The company I work for is talking about relocating to Studio City, part of Dubailand AND My wife is getting a new job and in 2 years, when they are ready, we can move into an apartment supplied by them. gues where the apartment block is? Dubailand of course. Thing look like they may be getting very exciting very soon.
  12. Hi, I am going to Alexandria in Egypt next month and RCDB says a plac called Fantasy Land has a coaster. I cant seem to find any details. anyone any idea? Thanks
  13. OMFG! Waht a fantastic update. The shots of duel are particulaly amaing. I love to see the workings of rides like that. thanks again.
  14. Isnt the internet a wonderful thing? Its great to see Soren arrived safely.
  15. I can believe hes gone. WOuld love to be able to say I will see you at Epcot, but do`nt really think it will happen this year. Good luck.
  16. Wow, Great report. Sounds like you had fun cant wait to see the pics. thanks again.
  17. I just hope it doesnt get cancelled. Dubai has a long history of cancelling show. Saxon have just pulled out of the desert Rock show, but Brian Adams is her tonight.
  18. I have very fond memories of visiting Blackpool Pleasure beach as a young boy and riding the Wonderful; World of Entertainment ride. It used to be in the Casino building and was a dark ride where the gondolas were suspended from an overhead track. It was later moved to the area next to the Steeplechase near where the hotel is now. Does anyone else remember this ride? I did a search on Google but found nothing. I would love to see some pics of video of this ride. When it was in the casino building there was also a motor bike that you sat on and the back wheel spun on a roller. that used to be my favourite ride there.
  19. Just had to shere this with someone. Got my tickets today!
  20. Lou, Maybe you could take some more awsome side boob shots? Just a thought.
  21. ^ ooh please tell what wagamama means. we have one here in Dubai!
  22. ^ can you please elaborate on the fastpass tickets. I was going to buy online for my July trip but if they are better at the gate will wait for that thanks
  23. WOW Thanks everyone for all your replies. I think I wll just take a look at both ques on the day. It sounds like its the ride ops that dont know how to run them properly. Universal Japan runs SRQ`s but the public dont know what they are for so they are always a walk on. Thanks again
  24. Off topic completely but ^^ I have just bought me tickets for Robbie Williams live in Dubai on April 21st. Woo Hoo!
