  1. #100 was Steamin' Demon at Great Escape on the North East trip!
  2. Maybe the coaster manufacturer is located in Europe?
  3. He/she is just shocked by my awesome "natural pose" skills
  4. The first bents have gone up! GCI Facebook page The first bent being flown into place. The first two bents standing in the trench at the bottom of the first drop. Looking down the first drop track going into the trench at the bottom Looking back up the first drop from inside the trench
  5. Back row is the way to go simply because of the massive airtime you get on that first drop, rest of the ride is pretty meh. Sounds like you had a fun day though!
  6. I agree, Wooden Warrior was such a surprise and a huge hit! Quassy was a great little park with quite a few rides. And Boulder Dash at Compounce? Wow, it was just, wow, yea. That triple up at night? Heavenly. Can't wait for more pics!
  7. Have they added that bowl slide yet? I remember seeing it in the original park plans but it was labeled as "future expansion"
  8. Canobie Lake was just a very fun park! I really do love these smaller parks now more than the big ones. They had a great variety of rides, beautiful scenery, and everyone was just really nice here. Plus who doesn't love those RCT food stands? Untamed was my first eurofighter ever and I was surprised by how shaky the front was, back row was much smoother. Overall I think it was a great addition to the park! For an older coaster, Cannonball was pretty good. Robb, how did you forget that our hotel in Canada didn't have power?! Alcohol exchange was great, especially for someone like myself who can't legally drink in the states!
  9. ^ This might be my favorite title ever.
  10. No one besides us dorky coaster enthusiasts know that it's an original B&M coaster, they don't even know who B&M is. All they know is that it's a mediocre ride that bangs you around.
  11. I would just like to take a second and applaud the Nitro ride crew. I went to the park yesterday and Nitro was running 3 trains without stacking! First time to the park and I was very impressed with all of the ride operations.
  12. ^Why do they have to be removed soon? Lines are usually pretty full for them.
  13. ^That's actually not that bad of an idea! Oh, why hello there decent amount of land!
  14. Yea, i'm not a fan of Iron Wolf. In fact, I hate it with a passion. The headbanging has become nearly unbearable and no one is ever really happy when they come back to the station. I have never ever seen Iron Wolf with a line besides Fright Fest when the park is packed. I do love the layout, but the ride is in rough shape. I would love to see Great America send Iron Wolf over to SFA, but despite what Screamscape says i'm still on the fence. Not only has the park sent out emails and Facebook messages saying Iron Wolf isn't leaving anytime soon, but they said the exact same thing during the Q&A session at Theme Park Review Day last year.
  15. ^Yup, but only that dinosaur was damaged from what i've heard.
  16. ^I prefer this sign I see when i'm on my way to Great America. I don't know which rides are on Flash Pass or not, but my advice is pretty much the same as everyone else, low capacity rides first. People can line up for rides pretty much as soon as they get through security. Superman always has a line, Dark Knight is hit or miss, Ragin Cajun has a single riders line which works decently, Little Dipper can have a long line too depending on the crew. Many rides are on Flash Pass though so you shouldn't run into too many problems.
  17. It was 20 bucks to park at Great America last year so i'm not sure why you guys are complaining. They can charge whatever they want because they know people will still park there no matter what.
  18. Indiana Beach posted this on their Facebook page on Friday.
  19. Sky swat? Meh, it would make for a nice expensive lawn ornament though.
  20. Zoomed in a bit. I really think it's the trains that makes this ride so rough, but of course it's only based on the pictures i've seen of that gap. I mean it's not a huge gap by any means, but I think the ride would be whole lot smoother if the wheels were actually touching the track. The trains were fabricated by Giovanola which may contribute to that roughness too. I have no idea how the track has held up over the years. Either way I wouldn't be sad if Iron Wolf got scrapped for something else.
  21. Restraints huh? Sure it has nothing to do with the giant gap between the track and the wheels?
  22. Since El Toro is a Intamin pre-fab woodie, can they replace or refurbish pieces of track like on normal wooden coasters? If not, how do you think they would smoothen the track out?
