Can't wait to watch this in 4K. I get my new monitor when I get back from San Antonio on the 15th. Looking forward to riding Switchback on the 10th as well. -

Beech Bend used to have a Christmas festival where they would run Kentucky Rumbler in the snow. I remember getting off that thing with icicles running from my eyes and nose, and snow in my hair. It was awesome! Riding coasters in harsh conditions have made for some of my most memorable rides. To this day, my favorite ride on X at Magic Mountain was in stinging rain. I got off the ride with my face beet red, and my hands numb. It was amazeballs! -

I know that all these ride designers often speak to each other. Is everything such a closely guarded secret that they refuse to not share anything, including ride safety restraints? Not that it matters, but IMHO it might behoove some of them to speak to Lagoon about their restraints? I know they engineer almost everything in house and are quite anal about safety as well as comfort. I've heard that they do consult on outside projects sometimes as well. I only ask, as I found the ones on both Wicked and Cannibal to be quite comfortable, even after 8 back to back rides. They feel very safe and keep you securely in your seat without any pain. I also like the feature that both have where after the ride comes to a complete stop on the break run, the restraint unclicks slightly to allow a bit of breathing room for the remainder of the roll into the station. Just curious as I haven't ridden Skyrush yet, and all I ever hear is about how awesome the ride is, but how uncomfortable the restraints are. If this ride has the same ones, even with a slight mod then hopefully Intamin has solved their problem. It just seems to me that safety and comfort are industry wide concerns, and that the ones that do it well would benefit, and could profit by sharing their knowledge with everyone else. Sorry if I went off on a tangent. -

Antarctica Expedition Photo Trip Report
Guy T. Koepp replied to JimmyBo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This has been my favorite Trip Report for the year. What a fantastic adventure. It is now a must do for me. Unfortunately it's probably gonna be a solo trip as my family seems to be allergic to temps below freezing. (Cough!) Pussy's! (Cough!) Thank you so much for sharing Jimmy. It's been great! -
I heard the Sky Cabin grabbed a trainer and dragged her down to her death. I'm sure if they took better care of their animals this would never have happened. I blame the mistreatment of all the sea life at Seaworld as the primary reason the Sky Cabin broke down. If they would just release all their animals back into the wild I'm sure they would never have any problems with their rides ever! And I know what I am talking about, because I talked to someone who knew some dude that had a second cousin that he has never met that works in sanitation engineering in Orlando, that just happened to pass Seaworld while this whole thing was going down. Boycott Seaworld! Guy "#blackfishisbiasedonesidedpropaganda" Koepp
