  1. This is one of their most pleasing, dramatic landscapes left in the park. I feel like it would be a missed opportunity to not use it for something super thrilling and iconic. c'mooon epic-class blitz!
  2. Love the Sequoia Lodge... Well, besides those couches. The Disney village looks a little... Uninspired during the day, but wow, those night photos are amazing. Great pictures!
  3. I haven't ridden this since I was in 7th grade, and it was really fun then. As of now, how would you guys rate it compared to Psyclone? [r.i.p ]
  4. For everyone frightened by it [i think it's cute, lol.] Fear not! The project was killed a couple years ago; too expensive. I'm kind of surprised it's taken this long for these vids to make the rounds. But given the time since that was built, I shudder to think of what's to come. Flying spider robots?
  5. I work in HR at Castle Park, here in SoCal. We were acquired by PR in... Jeez August I think? I'm hesitant to breathe a sigh of relief, but as far as I can see, they really are a very, very hands-off company. We've had one visit from representatives, and they were very clear to us that they had no intention of doing anything to the park, or "Putting money into something that doesn't really need it." They don't want to make every park their own personal Disneyland, they just want to sit back and share our money. They walked around, met with the staff, answered questions, and told us to expect further communications to be through e-mail. When I asked Rolf, our park #1 what was up, his response was "That was it? I don't know, I figured they'd want to survey the land or something." Heh, the park is standing on some land that would do nicely for an extra hospital annex that it could really use, or a hotel, and our attendance has been pretty poor lately,so he figured they might decide to scrap the place. But as far as I can tell, Parques Reunidos just want their cut. D
  6. Thanks montezooma! BEAUTIFUL!! It may have been a rattling deathtrap, but it was one of a kind. "Whaaaaa this ride is too rough, I bit my lip, my vertebrae have been reduced to liquid." It's a horrible shame to see a unique ride be brought down, and to stand in the shadows and weep as the masses shake their pitchforks and torches and shriek in their madness for a lynching. Maybe they'll melt it down and build some flats.
  7. Ohh good! I hope someone snatches up Flashback. It could be an awesome, unique ride again given some modification. I'm glad it won't be scrapped and burned according to the will of the malicious Anti-Flashback movement.
  8. *emphatic clapping* Awesome pictures. Thank you for posting this.
  9. Wow. This is devastating. Psyclone was my favorite ride at MM because it always provided a thrilling, bowel-loosening ride as opposed to the predictable and mediocre effect that the rest of the parks collection had after repeated rides. It's going to suck to have to travel farther to experience that out-of-control terror due to the abundance of people spoiled by todays new-fangled steel contraptions with their "smooth rides" and "up-to-date inspection information".
  10. Werd. This is the time of year when I always get my visits in, because frankly, it's the only time it's worth it. The crowds, staffing issues, and pretty much every problem that goes along with them are non-existant. Rainy days are the best, as long as one doesn't drive all the way up there to find a flashing sign proclaiming "SIX FLAGS MAGIC MOUNTAIN WILL BE CLOSED TODAY DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER! HAVE A NICE DRIVE HOME, IDIOT!" Heh. I'm on my way up there now.
  11. [/wipes slobber up] I love you.
  12. [/screams with delight]
  13. Good. Disney should recognize the tremendous influence they wield, and it would be awesome to see them show some interest in the well being of their guests. Cheers to them. "No Fat Chicks" tees in the Disney Store? Charge it.
  14. Hahah, I JUST saw the Ebaum link. Prepare for bandwidth rape.
  15. This is despicable. I've been holding out for another winter of Mountain Nirvana Weekends, where all the rides were running with no lines, the employees were thick across the park, and riding Psyclone was like tumbling down a slip n' slide soaked with KY and laid across an enormous babys bottom. After Fright Fest, will they even bother keeping the park open for weekend hours?
  16. No doubt, Tatsu's pretzel loop. I haven't been able to inflate my lungs to full capacity since my abdomen was shattered and irreversibly compressed on Media Day. Huzzah, Tatsu!
  17. I absolutely LOATHE having to post hearsay, but I think it's justified. I was told by a friend who works at MM that employees were told they would be turning in their uniforms after Fright Fest this year, and the park was being closed. I don't believe it for a second, but I wanted to see if an employee could tell me I'm an idiot and to shut up. I'd feel a lot better.
  18. As I found out today, the Flash Passes are $15.00, Monday-Friday, and $20.00 on weekends. I passed. Not worth it.
  19. Holy Dammit Christmas. That looks absolutely incredible. Well worth the cross-country trip to NJ/Hell.
  20. Hopefully you're being sarcastic. If not, Allison, Myself, Dan, and the 10 others or so who did 5 rides in a row (for nothing!... another story) say otherwise. But yeah, we were on Revy when it braked too hard, believe it was the second of the 5 tests they did with us on it. Not at all. I don't know who these people are; but I'm assuming that they are omnipotent beings who can ride all the trains and all the seats at one time, and can form an opinion based on the All Encompassing Coaster Condition Rating System, and easily relay the facts to the muddled masses. Anyway. It was much, much smoother than it was, the last time I rode it, a couple years ago. No head banging for me whatsoever.
  21. That was funny, I liked the way he said it. We all had a good laugh Best part of the campout. Hahah.
  22. Hm. Maybe if my computer explodes I'll rent it. the "walk around as a person" thing sounds kinda neat, it's nice to see it's FINALLY an option. But if I'm walking around looking at rides straight out of Sim Theme Park.. Eh.
  23. Wow. Revolution was running beautifully. Smooth as glass.
  24. I had a great time as well. But I too noticed a disturbing number of TPR members acting like complete and utter children. It was kind of disturbing seeing grown men absolutely refuse to let the flow of a [packed queue] line go because they want another turn on a ride. Seriously, it was pathetic. I couldn't wear my shirt anymore, because the ride ops were becoming very wary of certain groups of people. They were asking me if I knew these people, or if I had anything to do with so and so. It was a disgrace. But now that I'm home I'm wearing my too-cool-for-school shirt everywhere. Haha. Robb and Elissa are awesome for providing us with this oppurtunity, but there's only so much you can expect from some people's children. [i don't mean children, per se. More like, some of the adults I encountered must have been raised by alligators or south american tapirs.] Oh and Tatsu hurt me. That pretzel loop, while cool, is just... Jesus Christ. TOO MUCH FORCE! I'm not a fan of trims, and I doubt they would even help the problem, but the whole "My ribs are shattering within my abdomen" thing is so last year. But the rest of the ride is just amazing. AMAZING. Probably the best time I've ever had at the park, bar none.
  25. On my way out the door, now. Should be there by 6:20. This should prove exciting. I shouldn't be hard to spot, I'll be wearing my MySpace [is evil] shirt!
